Whats up with Cadillac?

Not a racist or to provoke any racist argument but i've been listening to a lot of R&B and some hip hop while working and just curious, i notice Afr-american musicians love to mention "Cadillac" in their songs. If you are black, are you somehow obsessed with the Cadillac brand or is this a promotional thing?

Cadillac has always been associated with the best.  When it is referenced in songs and the like, the songwriter is reinforcing this image.
