In today's IPL match Ricky Ponting scored 19 runs with 4's-1

Very few of them he played with the middle of the bat,70% runs came from leading edges, top edges

How come he was world number 1 player?

in his 4 ipl matches

20 runs of 20 balls against Bangalore

0 run of 1 ball against Hyderabad

0 run of 1 ball against Chennai

19 runs off 31 balls against Mumbai

do he seserves to be a captain?and be in the team???

a good player atleast should perform well in 1 match of his 5 matches

where is the past ricky ponting?

  1. gees you lot are quick to critisize arent you, your also forgetful, forgetting the fact the Ganguly in those same 4 matches scored and grand total of 40 runs!! yes only one run more!

BTW what the h**l does a "slap n' giggle" format of cricket have to do with him being captain (plus the fact that he wasnt the side captain anyway!) also at the moment he is not the world number one player, i think you'll find its either hussey of sangakkara

also if a bloke that scored 39 runs in 4 matches doesnt deserve to be a captain, why does a bloke who scored 40 runs in those same matches deserve to be!

  2. even i am not understanding he is not playing properly... his performance is going down day by day..... not appreciated at all

  3. im australian and i think that he's just out of form-in a bad slump and that hopefully soon he will be back to his brilliant best. im a big fan of him and hate seeing him play badly, but i do wish people would stop critising him.

  4. He is just out of form Not in T20 but ODIs laso.

  5. Well he is one man we will not miss after today.

Ricky Ponting is playing as his ticket price was!

He has not performed well at all.

  6. His time has gone. He should retire and young blood like Shane Watson should be given chance.

Edit : Ms Dhoni is very overrated, Keep dreaming...

  7. well..dats a fact now...he isn't been doin' wat he's supposed to do...but we can't take his case...it's ok to let him go based on the fact the every player has to undrego a phase in which he juz can't play..no matter how big a player he is..like they say "form is temporary but class is permanent.".

  8. i call that bad luck. he's a gr8 player when in form

  9. He is a brilliant batsman. He has had some bad form recently in the shorter forms of the game. He probably should be given some time off to get back his form, Maybe drop him for a few then bring him back.

  10. he is out of form

  11. Not a good record is it. But, even the best (Bradman excluded - I can't remember him ever having one) have a bad run of form at some point.

I suppose he'll be back on form by next years Ashes (Unfortunately!)

  12. well he is one of the best batsmebut every batsmen has  aphase. even jaysuriya is not performing very well. maybe he is good in ODI and test matches, but in 2020 yuo dont have enough time to settle it happens a time comes when you just cant perform in several matches and thats when people start to point fingers on them. i know sometimes even tendulkar (who is lke a demi-god to his indian fans) criticizes when he doesn play well

  13. shane watson for ricky ponting, lol are you stupid.

anyway, its not just ricky ponting who is out of form, the other two great iconic batsmen, ie dravid and kallis are also out of form. but dravid, kallis and ponting are the greates batsmen of the last 15 years after lara and obivously sachin, and surely will come back stronger than ever
