  1. I'd guess you're talking about the 1986 Fleer one.

    I'm not sure what the story is as to why he had that glove. I do know he also was shown carrying the giant glove (likely the same glove) on the front of his 1991 Upper Deck one as well. (card #666 by strange chance) Plus, on the back of that card he was shown stomping out a fire near one of the bases. Very bizarre card indeed. Oh the glove, I think it probably was just some specialty thing he had made for goofing around in practice or whatever.


  2. When Hatcher was a player, he was known as a notorious prankster and fun loving player.  I'm sure that the glove was just some sort of gag he was playing.  He's the type of player that if he made two errors in an inning would come out the next inning wearing a giant glove as a joke.

  3. I think you're referring to the 1991 Upper Deck card, had that one too. I think it was to match his ego after he suddenly played great in the 1988 WorldSeries against the A's
