Whats up with the economy???

Question

did anyone else get laid off? can't pay their bills? can't afford to go anywhere because of gas prices? can't find a job?

It's because all our money is being spent on a war in Iraq. I didn't get laid off (yet), but I certainly am not going out shopping every day.

Well Let's see... Our Government spends more money than it possibly can, and then the Federal Reserve Prints more money to spend. When they print the money we loose the value of the dollar and prices go up. Did you know that If I bought Gas 5 years ago with a Lets say 1 pound brick of gold I Would get the same amount of gas today for a pound of gold. Prices didn't go up.... Our dollar value went down. We need to do something about all this spending! (And yes the Iraq war is one problem as said in other posts here)

As far as I can tell, the only thing UP with this economy is UNEMPLOYMENT!

honey, believe me, this is nothing like we had in the 70's and 80's.  Remember our wonderful preisdent Jimmy Carter?  We had some real fun times with him in office.  

This is really nothing.  "what comes up must come down".  Our economy is just going through a little tough time right now, which is HEALTHY and NORMAL for a capitalist economy.  However, our real economic strength is not measured on how well our good periods are, but rather on how soft our bad periods are, and how fast we can recover from them.
