Question:

Whats up with these DVD recorders?

I have wasted over 10 DVDs trying to record my stuff. I put in a blank dvd thats compatable, and 1 out every 3 times I get a message saying that it decides not to record on it. And the machine ejects the dvd back to me.

I used Dual Layer, the most expenive ones. Tossed out three of'em.

I have a Sony, I souldn't have so many problems with such a brand name electronic. I have exchanged the device once already.

Whats the problem?

  1. " I used Dual Layer, the most expenive ones. Tossed out three of'em "

There is your problem, maybe it only accepts single-layer. Most DVD recorders only accept single-layers.

  2. some brands of blanks work better with some brands of recorders better that others. But more likely your doing something wrong. ask the manufacturer for help

  3. Maybe it doesent like you.

  4. Depends on what you are trying to put on them. If they are movies you bought then it wont work unless you get one of the really old programs that bypass the copyrights. But if it is your own stuff then you probably have a crappy dvd recorder (it happens, never buy anything built on a monday morning or friday afternoon). Return it and try a different one.
