Whats up with those rocks that move across the desert floor in death valley ,az.or somewher?

i saw it years ago on a show..have they figured it out yet?/..wind?.moisture at night?..any ideas?/

  1. Death Valley, CALIFORNIA.

    It's probably from ice forming on a slick mud surface of Racetrack Playa and high winds blowing the rocks around during the winter.


  2. Cold desert nights, water condenses and freezes, winds blow rocks around as they are on a thin film of ice which is slippery enough.
