i was just wondering wuts ur fave filipino food..describe it..tell me why its the awesomest food ever..lol wutever u think about it...

i need some ideas for this thing at our school

and can u please say wuts ur ethnicity/background

    Its super yummy fried sweet rice and coconut and is sweet :)

    Kare-kare is a Philippine stew. It is made from peanut sauce with a variety of vegetables, stewed oxtail, beef, and occasionally offal or tripe. and often eaten w/ bagoong (shrimp paste) u really must try it.. it may look awful but it taste really delicious! haha! f u want to know the recipe just click this link.

  5. adobo chicken..... not only is it the national dish of the pillippines but it is the greatest.  To make it you first fry the chicken(preferably thighs)  then take the chicken out of the pot and add 1 cup water to the pot then 1/2 cup vinegar.  2 Tbsp brown sugar or to taste, a tsp black peppercorns and 2 bay leaves.  boil this down until it is thick and then put the chicken thighs back in the pot and cook until almost all liquid is gone  It is similar to chicken teriyaki but so much better.  You can also add diced potatoes.

    This is the best dish/

  7. My favorite of all time is (I don't know if you ever heard of it but it's the best):

    1.) Laing (ginataang Laing)

    Ingredients

    * 25 pieces dried taro root (dahon ng gabi)

    * ½ kilo pork (cut into small cubes)

    * 3 cups grated coconut

    * 2 cups water

    * 1 big head of garlic (minced)

    * 2 small onions (minced)

    * 1 tablespoon ginger (grated)

    * ½ cup small dried shrimps (soaked)

    * 6 pieces hot chili pepper (minced)

    * ½ cup alamang (preserved baby shrimps)

    * 3 tablespoons cooking oil

    Procedure:

    1. Wash dried taro root and separate leaves from stalks.

    2. Discard the prickly part of the stalk.

    3. Cut into 1 "

    4. Extract the cream from the grated coconut.

    5. In a pan, sauté garlic, onion, ginger, pork meat and stir.

    6. Add in dried shrimp, hot chili pepper, alamang, and the stalks.

    7. Cook until stalks are tender.

    8. Stuff Taro root leaf with 2 tablespoons of mixture. Wrap well.

    9. Arrange stuffed leaves in a casserole and pour in coconut cream.

    10. Cook until coconut cream excretes its oil and stuffed leaves are cooked well.

    11. Serve hot.

    2.) Ginataang Tulingan (coconut milk braised Mackerel)

    Ingredients :

    1 kilo tulingan(Mackerel fish) steaks

    2 tbsp calamansi or lemon juice

    1 medium onion, chopped

    1 tbsp crushed ginger

    2 medium red bell peppers, cut into strips

    2-1/2 cups thick coconut milk

    1 can (227 g) tomato sauce

    2 medium sayote(or baby papaya), sliced diagonally

    1-2 pcs siling labuyo (or green chili pepper), crushed

    2-1/2 tsp rock salt (if prefer)

    ¼ tsp cracked peppercorns

    Procedure :

    Wash fish steaks thoroughly. Sprinkle with calamansi or lemon juice.

    Saute onions, ginger and bell peppers in oil.

    Add fish steaks and coconut milk. Simmer until half cooked.

    Add the rest of the ingredients. Simmer for 30 minutes,or until cooked.

  11. i luv a lot of food. probly for a main meal, adobo chicken (chicken with this soy sauce recipe), and sinigang (anything in a sour tamarind soup). and for dessert, halohalo (shaved ice and fruits and syrups).

  13. I am of Indian descent but I enjoy certain filipino foods like lumpia and p**o.

  14. my absolute favorite filipino food is pinakbet because it's full of vegetables (that i might spell wrong) like pa lung, ootong, eggplant, tomato, okra, pumpkin, and some other stuff.  my favorite filipino vegetable is pa lung.  i also love pork and peas, adobo, pancit, lumpia, sabao(spelling?)...im sure there's lots more!

    i am hawaiian, chinese, filipino, and caucasain.  my great-grandfather was 100% filipino and my great-grandmother was 100% hawaiian...both on my moms side.  they raised me and i ate filipino food almost everyday because my grandpa did most of the cooking.  so i grew to love filipino food.  when i was little i also used to eat cow hoof and chicken fingers...both filipino dishes.  i wont touch it anymore!  im from hawaii and filipino food is very popular amongst the locals.

    well, hope i helped.  im hungry now!
