  1. Sometimes how photogenic you are depends on the angle of the camera.. It really depends what kinda picture you're trying to take but I always tend to smile and look quite happy, but not over the top! Don't over-pose and also try and prepare for the photo as much as possible, make sure you're postitioned right, there is nothing worse than being caught off guard when the camera's out!

  2. Shift your weight away from the camera, tilt your head so that you chin is point in the direction of one of your shoulders and turn your bodily slight - This aids in looking slimmer

  3. the biggest one is try to to pose to much in pictures.  that makes it look fake.  smile bright and if u think happy thoughts ur eyes will get a happy glow too.  and don't slouch also. other than that i guess it depends if ur trying to do modeling pictures theres alot more advice but for just for fun pictures it kinda doesn't matter.

  4. Confidence!!

  5. Most faces will look better if they're photographed from a 3/4 angle or turned slightly to the side. Try a half smile with closed lips and a full smile. Genuinely smile, though, as fakey smiles don't look good. Avoid the pouty lip poses and things like that.

Also use a light dusting of a translucent powder to cut down on any oily shine on the skin. If you use the powdered mineral foundation, you wouldn't need this, though. Even if you don't normally wear make-up, try a rosy or peachy lipgloss with mascara and a dusting of blush on the apples of your checks. I say this because the camera flash can make people look washed out if even if they aren't in person.

    Good luck!! : )

  6. It's all about finding your angles. Try different angles and see what works.

There really nothing you can do though. Some people are photogenic and some people aren't. I'm not photogenic at all and even if I find the right angle, I still only get like 1/5 good shots.

  7. Photographers will take rolls of film of models and only get one or two really good photos so don't expect you're going to just get a good one at home right off the bat.  Some people DO seem to take good photos all the time though.

Never have the photo shot from underneath.  It will make you have large nostrils and put shadows under your eyes.  Straight on or slightly above is better.  If you have a good profile, you can turn your head slightly.  Don't have any light that makes you squint.

Practice smiling in the mirror so you can see what looks best.  Some people look good with a big smile but others show too many teeth or their gums.  Some big smiles can cause the eyes to disappear.

If you're standing, place one foot in front and put your weight on the back foot.  Make at least one arm at an angle, like put your hand on your hip or near your pants pocket.  The angle will make your waist look littler. If you hold your arms straight down it only makes you look wider.  Look at some photos of models and see how they stand.  Magazines is okay but not real high end shoots as they hunch their shoulders and things.

Make sure the photographer knows what settings to use so you don't end up with too light or too dark skin.  Look at some old photos of yourself and correct the things you didn't like.
