I do support there right to strike,but the way they did it was totally wrong.They should have given more notice or just reduced service.They lost any support i would have given them.

The TTC is pathetic in EVERY level.

Have you ever taken the transit in another country? Its like heaven and h**l, with TTC being h**l.

Unprovoked RUDE workers who should be FIRED, if you work at a customer service job, then you should DO YOUR JOB. Unless a customer is rude first hand, you have absolutely no right to be rude.

I understand the DRIVERS were the majority that voted AGAINST the strike, and are the ones who are actually taking a lot of the c**p from people, I sympathize with you.

As for the other workers/etc that voted to strike, they should all be fired, systematically. There are probably TONS of immigrants who would die for a high paid job like that, and do 100x better and more efficient of a job. And not to mention, KNOWLEDGE from another country where a BETTER (heaven compared to TTC) transit system occurs.

Other Transit Systems:

- Highly schedule buses - arrives EVERY 15min/35min - RARELY ever late. (rush hour/off hour)

- TIMED streetcars (ETAs available) - can see estimated time of arrival, spaced out like every 5-7 minutes.

NO 3 streetcars back to back, NO waiting 20 minutes - NO expected irregular service

- Subways also have ETAs, delays are IMMEDIATELY notified on the ETAs.

- Never have regular power outs.

- Some subway systems have glassed walls with doors (opens automatically with arrival of train) - so NO ONE can fall or jump into the tracks

- CLEAN subway system

- Cost is calculated based on DISTANCE TRAVELED. (1 stop is cheaper than 10 stops, unlike the stupid TTC system - where every ride is 2.25 - no wonder they are losing money. It costs the same to go from North York Center to Shepard, as it costs to go from Finch to Kipling. Very very very stupid, no matter how you look at it.)

- Other transit systems have gotten RID of the pathetic low tech ticket and token system, all payments are made by a rechargeable card (you put cash value in).

I hope you can understand how pathetic the TTC actually is, for those who have never really known what a true competent service is like (go take the transit outside of Toronto).

TTC is now an essential service. TTC themselves just signed it with this sudden strike. They deserve all the negative public feedback they're going to get in the next....few days.

"Oh, we deserve 100% pay for when we're injured on the job!" Uh, no, jerkwad, even the cops get 75% for on-the-job injuries...and they're SUPPOSED to be in the line of fire!

"Oh, we don't get paid enough!" Um....almost $23/hour is not enough? Doesn't the majority of you guys have high school diplomas? Do you know how many people working in Timmys and other fast food joints who will KILL for your job? How about the people on welfare? I'm pretty sure they're more than willing to be scabs for $15/hour. h**l, do you know how many new university graduates with degrees want to make $47Gs a year?

"Oh, other transit in the GTA get paid more than we do!! They have better job security than we do!!" You're whining over five cents? How childish are you? Here're the websites for Mississauga, Brampton, York and Durham Region transits. Click on "apply here." No one is holding a gun to your head and making you stay employed in the TTC.

Its pathetic and ridiculous. Anybody who actually supports them are idiots also. My question to the TTC workers would be: if you're so unhappy about how much you get paid, then why don't you find another job?? Makes sense. They choose this job, I don't care how many kids they have to support on their salary, they choose it. If they wanted a higher paying job, they should have went to post-secondary education to get that degree to get a higher salary. Instead of looking for another job, they wanna disrupt everything and strike. They actually get paid way more than they deserve. Over $20 an hour those selfish lazy scums get and they still complain. I don't blame anyone who assaults those TTC idiots. They deserve it.
