  1. What I wonder is this: why, with a suspended license, would anyone drive in a manner that would get them pulled over? The police can't look at a driver and tell his license is suspended, so he must be speeding, doing illegal lane changes, have broken taillights, something.

It amazes me how lawless the general public is getting. I hear "fook the cops" all the time now, and it's always from lawless hedonists. If YOU are the one with the suspended license, STOP DRIVING UNTIL YOU GET IT FIXED.

I would think that'd be kind of easy to figure out. You have to get to a job? Carpool. Use the bus. Walk. Jog. Get a job closer to home. I can't imagine anyone with a driving record like that having a job that was so good that he couldn't quit it.  I don't know the penalty about which you asked, but I hope it's severe.

  2. In CA where everyone drives, these offenses are punished very severely for a misdemeanor.  Each offense carries up to 1 year county jail AND can be run consecutive to any other offense.  If your Drivers License was suspended relating to a DUI, there is mandatory jail time for each offense.

  3. permanent, or indefinite revocation or license.

  4. Depends on the state. Do a search for your state's motor vehicle agency website. You should be able to find a definate answer there.

I live in New Jersey, and here, they just increase the fine and further suspension for greater periods of time. After three, from what I've seen in court, people get thousands of dollars in fines, years of additional suspension and 30-90 days in conty jail. I've never seen someone get their license revoked forever after the third, but I've seen 5 year suspensions for the third offense.

Check your states motor vehicle agency's website. Every state is different.
