  1. Well it's only going to get worse.... They who are in charge think the public are sheep and believe all this green c**p... Lets go back to the dark ages then. Rats and disease... Nice.

  2. Well burning it is wrong, but rest assured that within the next 3 years there will be no binmen. It will be up to ourselves to dispose of rubbish in dumps or by recycling it. Using bin lorries to collect ever increasing amounts of refuse is just not logical if we are trying to cut down on emissions. Please recycle

  3. In one of the local finest restaurants, a roomful of well-heeled locals is tucking into plates of sesame-crusted salmon and filet mignon au poivre. Out back, meanwhile, a dozen or so diners are having a feast of their own: stinky cabbage matter to start, followed by fatty trimmings in a tepid grease sauce, all washed down with a nice drop of Château Urine de Drunkard. You can practically hear their little salivary glands kicking into overdrive as they skitter in and out of an open rubbish bin. Rudely interrupted by a couple of guys from the environmental health department, they squeal and scatter. But they’ll be back. Rats always come back.

  4. This is a new government initiative to encourage waste reduction and promote recycling. It's not meant to be one collection a fortnight. Waste gets collected one week and recycables the next. A government white paper (carried out by public health experts) in 2006 announced that fortnightly collections would not be a public health risk. But as with all new initiative there is public revolt.

The problem is that in the UK people are lazy. We are one of the worse for recycling and produce more waste per head of population than any other EU country.

This new initiative though has not proved popular, particulary amongst local authorities with a poor recycling record.

Local authorities should first have introduced a two pickup  collection, with recycables on one day and waste  on a different day.

Waste is going to be a huge issue, we are rapidly running out of landfill space. Soon it will be a 'pay as you throw' service where you will be charged for the actual waste you throw away.

Currently within a particular council you pay for waste through the council tax. This is unfair as a two similar houses will pay the same rate, regardless in you recycle or not. This should not be the case.

  5. Well if they bring this in in our area I for 1 will be burning it. Also leaving the food out in strategic locations for the wild life.

Its a step to far and I am SICK OF IT!

To Woddy (Above) - Yes, the goverment also told us there was WMD's in Iraq, Beef is safe to eat - that was all a lot of cra.p also.
