Whats with the cover of new moon?

the cover of new moon is like a wilted flower or something im not really sure. can anyone tell me what the flower (or whatever it is) represnets??

A flower is generally very fragile and like a relationship can die at any moment, but it can also be saved just like Bella and Edwards relationship.

Either that or, do you remember when Edward crushed the metal flower in his hands? Well, maybe it resembles how fragile Bella is. When she turned into a "zombie" in New Moon it showed that she was venerable (unprepared).
