  1. to make it easy for you the worst one the closed to -6

and  the better one the closed to 0

so, -1.25 is worse than -1.00

  2. -1.25

  3. in your case the -1.25 is worse than the -1.00. if it were a plus power then the higher plus would be worse. the easiect way to think is with the positive numbers its the highest number, and with the negative number its the lowest negative thats the worse. hope this helps!

  4. For all practical purposes the power in both of your eyes may be taken as normal(equal). Please wear the glasses constantly, kept close to your eyes for best results.

  5. The -1.25

    That is a small correction.

  6. 1.25 is worse

  7. -1.25 is worse, the larger the number, the worse.

  8. I think -1.00 is worse than -1.25. Dont be shocked.

following are the reasons behind this:

    1. It exerts extra effort to see things clearly at near (more accommodation)

    2. When you turn old (presbyopic) your -1.00 eye will have more plus power to see things clearly or may require near correction earlier than your -1.25 D eye.

    3. When you wear glasses and look at the things closer to you, e.g. reading a book, your -1.00 D eye has to converge more due to less base in prism in your glasses due to lesser power (-1.00 < -1.25).

    4. Now if your dominant eye has -1.25 then the case becomes much more complicated coz if it has a better image formed on the retina, the dominant eye becomes more dominant and non-dominant gets suppressed gradually to make the vision in your -1.00 (non dominant eye) worse.

Now you know which of your two eyes is worse?

  9. Technically when you have a minus prescription your eye is too strong and the minus lens is needed to bring the light back onto your retina.... but yes the higher the number(-1.25) the stronger the prescription.

  10. -1.25 is worse compared to -1.00 by just a little (1/4).

The higher the digits, the more severe it is. -1.25, however is very mild and you shouldn't worry as of yet.

    Hope this has helped.

  11. -1.25.

and it's not really that bad.

  12. the larger the negative number the worse it is.
