Dale Jr. is doing ok in points (he's third) but what about Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson? You dont even here there name except when Gordon was mad at Jr. for not helping him earlier this year.

  1. Hendrick Motorsports is doing okay, just not great. If you look back to last season, Johnson didn't get off to that great of a start then, either. They are getting better and will start knocking out some top 5s more often. Dale may be 3rd in points, but he's 271 behind the leader. That's almost two full races. Jeff and Jimmy have had some bad luck getting caught up in some wrecks, and Dale has been pretty lucky in staying out of trouble this year. Even Dover could have been much worse. Isn't there a 4th Hendrick car out there? Haven't seen it much lately.

  2. I saw an interview with Jimmie Johnson, he was saying that at the end of last season, when the other teams were tweaking and perfecting the COT, they chose to focus on winning the championship, if you recall he and Jeff Gordon went on quite the tear at the end of last season, and he continued to say that at the beginning of this season when most of the major teams had the car figured out, they were still trying to get it there, so they've been tweaking it and perfecting it during the current season as opposed to the end of last season.

I think they've got it now. And I'm pretty sure HMS is going to be picking up steam anytime now.

  3. They arent any worse than last year They just havent improved on the COT like Roush and Jgr have  Everyone has caught up

  4. The so called COT is the ticket.. Toyota and new brands on the grid make it for more " fair " racing  .. the old days of three wide and sticking are almost gone because of the aeropush of the new car and it's bottom skirt.. kind of like a fat person belly floppin in to a pool the wake from the front is the same as driving past a truck on the interstate but at 180 mph plus.. the best drivers to adapt to this will prevail.. none of the open wheel drivers seem to have knowledge of this yet.. it seems.. for HMS  there is a good thing.. JR can drive the rest of the season and still not win.. he is good at it.. very good.. the only driver is that # 24 I think.. mediocre #88 is gonna be left behind by the # 24 team because Gordon has a good knowledge of racing.. hooray for Dale Jr consistent on not winning.. yay..

  5. nothing its just toyotas cheating

  6. Dale jr. Cursed them no im kiddin! Actually they are doin jus fine but yeah they r not as  good as last year.

  7. Nothing is wrong with Hendrick. The learning curve with the COT is nearly equal with all teams so they are all on page one.

Jimmie has won,Jeff has had some decent runs, even Casey has made noise, and Junior has got all sorts of press.

All these drivers could break thru with a win at any time.

Hendrick was hot with the COT last year and this year others have caught up.Sure this has made for dull racing at times but each race is getting better and more competition.

The Hendrick team will break thru and they have showed life in the past few events.

  8. Its cauze they gave all the good ekwipment to Dale Earnhearts son to try to get him a win. Now they see that hes not all he is kracked up to be so they gave Jimmy and Jeff good ekwipment for Dover and look how good they did. JR kwalified 29th and the other two in the top 10. I think Rick Hendrix found out that JR. can not win with the best, now he gets his winners the good cars because they can win.

  9. They just haven't been able to get the set ups straight with the new tire that goodyear has thrown at them this year. They do seem to be getting better .

  10. I don't think anything is wrong with them. They will come around before the Chase starts. It tickles me to see Jr. ahead of the two of them.

  11. maybe they are just all sad and stuff coz like maybe they miss their old friend shrub...the laughter, the horseplay, playing "kick the (gas) can" - the "good times."  i was a military brat and me and my friends would get like all totally bummed when one of us had to move ya know, only to be replaced by someone else and stuff...

    ;-)

  12. Besides the fact that NA$CAR is giving Toyota more HP?  Nothing is wrong with them.  Jeff and Jimmie are making up ground quickly.  All the so-called Gibbs fans (I call them bandwagon fans) are going to be whining very soon...when HMS goes on one of their patented domination streaks.

  13. One team or owner can't win season after season.

What they need to figure out is why Bush gets away with cheating week after week.

He's not a good or experienced driver, and Toyota can't make a racing engine worth a darn. (Look at Waltrip's car).

  14. There is nothing wrong with Hendrick Motorsports this year;it is just that everyone else has caught up with them on the COT in terms of technology(i.e.the 7 Post Rig).Jimmie Johnson has won a race(albeit,it was on fuel-mileage and I hate when races come down to that, even when the 48 wins that way),Dale earnhardt,Jr. won the Bud Shootout, and there have been a few instances where luck has played against them, also.Other than that, all of the Hendrick drivers are in the top ten in points except for Casey Mears, which is no different than last year lol.Like I said before,Gibbs,Roush-Fenway,and Childresss have just stepped up there game;Hendrick is still as good as ever!!

  15. There is nothing wrong with them.  Hendrick isnt the only great team out there with talented drivers and engineers.  The power is always going to shift around.  If you try comparing every season to 2007, you'll probably end up being very disappointed!  Its not like Hendrick is running poorly.  The year they had last year was just plain EXTRAordinary!

  16. Nothing is wrong with them. Everyone else has figured out the COT.  What goes up must come down and so will "Lil Busch".

  17. i'm going to go with marinerecruit's answer. his answer is close to what i was going to say.

  18. They are doing fine and will make their presence felt in the chase, when it really matters.  You see a lot of cars with that rear end turned out (JGR and ROush especially) but HMS has been reluctant to do that for some reason.  There have been some rear end failures and tire problems because of it and I think they are just playing it safe for now.  They are still testing different setups, in a way, but will have a better handle on that by the time the last 10 races get here.  With 3 drivers that will probably make the chase, HMS will still be a major player in determining this year's champion in the Sprint Cup Series.

    3 STR8 N 08!!!

  19. well...Jimmie & Jeff are in the top 12.

which right now is really the most important thing.

and Jimmie has won a race!

once the chase starts i know they'll dominate.

    they always do.

  20. it's very simple, dale jr!!!   i know i just ticked some people off,but facts are facts.he only got where he is thanks to daddy.he's not that great of driver, product sponsorship he's awesome.he ruined dei for himself.so he took his team and went to hendrick.how are they doing? not as well as everyone thought, hmmmmmmmmm i wonder why? jimmy can't win, jeff can't win, casey's just a weekly test team, junior can't win.i thought hendrick was the best of the best? what does and did dei and hendrick have in common, dale jr.

  21. There is nothing wrong at HMS 3 of their 4 drivers are in the top 7 in points.   That isn't to shabby.  The Junior Gordon incident you are refering to only last about 10 minutes it was no biggie at all.  HMS is just fine.

  22. NASCAR is punishing them for giving Jr a seat at HMS...!!!

Seriously I think that most teams have caught up and some have passed HMS.

  23. they gave all jimmie and jefffs  good cars to jr to try and make him look good

  24. Maybe Hendrick doesn't have as many wins as last year, but name another team that has 3 drivers in the the top 7 in point standings, and Jay even if junior is 271 points out, Jeff Gordon was ahead by over 300 points last year before the chase, and he still lost the title. All that matters is making the chase, and then winning. Go HMS!!! GO 24!!!

  25. Nothing. Jeff is 6th in points and Jimmie is 7th. That is pretty good in my book. Considering the way the Chase is, I hope their winning streaks kick in after the Chase starts. That is when it counts the most.

  26. cant win all the time and this new car sux
