I had started working a job sunday night from 9pm-6am and when i came home i went straight to bed then i woke up crying idk why its the first time that i worked a shift like that at all. Well worried about what was wrong with me i told my boss i had to quite. The pass 2 days now i havent had any sleep due to looking for another job etc and i feel sleepy all through the day and i dont feel like myself and i dont feel like doing anything. I seem to cry for no reason at times and worry about stuff i shouldnt worry about. Is this due to my lack of sleep because i am almost always a morning person. The past 2 days i have only gotten about 8 hours a sleep a night my girlfriend is worried about me etc and i hate feeling this way. If i drink a tiny bit of caffeine or talk and around ppl i am fine and i dont think about stuff. But other than that i just stay worried.

  1. After reading your question I was absolutely amazed at all the changes in your life at this time running in tandem with what I can only describe as a sleep pattern massacre! If it were me that all this was happening to I think I would have "lost the plot" a lot sooner than you so congratulations for getting this far with it all.

What is wrong, you have asked. Wow, everything is wrong - your entire life is in turmoil and as soon as that is sorted and you are re-established in some sort of stable routine then I feel sure it will pass.

Try to work out, if possible, the priorities you need for survival just now and work on those. Gradually work through them all whilst at the same time try to take time out for a rest, even a short one, between necessary activites. With my best wishes, UK

  2. Some people can tolerate pulling an occasional "all nighter".   I am not one of those people.   I would be physically ill, and emotionally off balance for a few days going 24 hours without sleep.

When people do work "graveyard" they find that it is necessary to keep pretty close to the same sleep schedule for their days off - if they want to be able to feel well and to function.

When switching your days and nights, adjusting your schedule, can play havoc.   People who travel call it "jet lag"   Just figure it is going to take a few days to "reset your internal clock" and to feel normal again.

  3. You should call your doctor.  I'm sure that some of it is being sleep deprived, but not all of it.  Have you had a lot of stress lately?  Call your doctor!
