  1. Just because they puff there beard out does not mean they are going to bite you.  && for the record, a beardies bite does not hurt, mine has bite me several times (mistaked for crickets, excited to eat, and what the h**l are you poking around in my cage bites)  if he puffs it out and its black, generally that means they are stressed, what time do u turn his lights off, maybe he wants to sun bathe. I am not really sure, remove his lights? what do you mean by that,, he may be wanting more light and your taking it away to soon? that or he likes to puff his beard, they like to do that.

  2. Don't worry about it. If he does that then he may be nervous. When they are maturing they will usually get nippy and feisty. Don't be scared to the point you don't want to pick it up. If you don't it will dislike people and be nervous, scared, angry, etc. when you try to pick it up. If you are nervous that your lizard will bite you wear gloves. Gardening gloves would work if you don't have any other. If you pick it up with gloves don't fear of getting bit because it won't hurt as long as you have gloves on. I use gloves when dealing with my "not so friendly" snake. It works, trust me.

  3. Beardie's can be a lot of bluff and no bite, but try talking to him before reaching into the tank, so you aren't startling him.  Just go about changing the bulb, or whatever you need to do.  You can also stop, if he's displaying to you, and pick him up, to he realizes it's just you and his home isn't being invaded.

Are you sure he's "bearding" you, or is he just stretching?  Is he entering a shed?  BD's will often "beard" to stretch the skin.

But, do keep an eye on him.  Beardie bites can be painful.

I'll post some links below which cover a lot on care and attitude.  You might want to peek them out when you find time.

Don't let him scare you.  BD's have a lot of personality.

I hope this has been helpful, and enjoy your pet.

  4. puffing out their beard does not mean anything mine does it all the time and if he did bite you it doesn't hurt. It may be he is cold and wants to warm up. And also if teens is like 13 Years he is waaaaay past maturing

  5. its means hes upset or scared.

even if you did get bit, their bites dont really hurt.

and it  means they might be going into to fighting mode.
