He stays at the bottom of his tank unless he needs air!! I always think he is dead everyday, and it seems hard for him to swim. I made his tank water more shallow so he doesn't have to struggle as much any tips? Its like he stays leaned over to one side but his head is upright like normal? I need advice!

  1. Definately sounds like Swim Bladder Disorder (SBD).

Here is a website that can help you diagnose him and figure out if you just need to feed him a little less or make appropriate changes, like you did by lowering the water, to make him more comfortable.

Here's another one that will really help explain things.

  2. it does actually sound like he has a swimbladder problem

  3. He is fine. Ours did that. He sleeps a lot is all. Your a great fish owner and keep it up!

  4. look, you are having problems keeping fish.

its not your fault, you just thought that a fish was a cheap pet.

people spend more money on fish every year than they do on any other house pet.

Im sure that surprises many people, because they have a betta in a bowl.

fish are the hardest things to keep and the smaller the aquarium, the more difficult it is to be sucessful.

so next time, get a pet that you know something about.

  5. Its totally fine. Dont worry they always do that.

  6. When you clean the tank do you use a product that takes the chlorine out of the water? If you dont that could be the reason. you could be feeding it the wring food or not cleaning its tank enough which caused the fish waste to get stuck in the gills. I hope that helped.
