Whats wrong with my computer. it saids virus alert where the time is suppose to be

it also got rid of some of the icons and the all programs disappeared. how do i fix this? do i have to get virus protection to fix it or do i have to get a new hareware thing and replace it with the one in my pc

Yes you need a virus protection to fix this because the viruses are causing these stuff, if you use anti-viruses to scan and delete them, the viruses will be gone and everything will be back to normal, (unless the viruses corrupted some of your files).

Download AVG, Avast!, or Avira antivirus. They're all free and one of the best. I have links for them under my sources for you to download them. Only download 1 because if you download more than 1 there will be conflicts. Scan your computer with them and delete any files that are infected or contains a virus.

It is also recommended to download antispyware. They are all free too. I have the links under my sources, too, for you to download.
