Whats wrong with my digi cam?

i have a casio z700 exilim 7.0 megapixel.i have this camera for less than a year and it seems working great until 2 days ago with im going to take pics for some reason all of a sudden the zoom swtich stop working i cant zoom in or out.i dont remember anything that happen to it that could cause the problem i dont know if its a setting or its really broken.maybe someone here can tell me what could be the problem with it.

It does seem strange that it would happen without incident... is there anyone else who has access to it or has used it recently?

My camera also has the same problem - the zoom doesn't work (and the lens won't retract), but of course, I actually did drop it. I took it to a camera store to find out what they thought (it was apparently a misaligned barrel), and one store gave me manufacturer's information to find out about actual repairs. Try take it to a store and ask them what they think. Hopefully it is a minor thing, like settings, that they can remedy in a couple minutes.
