Ok, so i managed to get onto this site, but since last night, my internet has being going so much slower than usual, and alot of the websites i try and get on wont load!

It just says "Page cannot be displayed"

It tends to be especially websites that are busy (java, lots of pictures)

I tried a "Error Diagnosis" and it says "The FTP connection could not connect" - We rang BT, they couldnt bloody help!

So, what is the problem, I will be so happy if you can help me out!

Thanks =)

  1. have you tried resetting you Home Hub? Either switch it off for 40 secs and then back on or hold the grey button in for 40 secs and release.

    Run a BT speedtest here [it's the one they use] http://speedtester.bt.com and check that you are receiving the speeds that you should be.

    Use the ethernet cable and connection rather than the USB one and check that your ADSL filters are in the right place.

    While you're at it I'd check your computer for infections, clear your cache and see if it needs defragging.

  2. plz check the your lan card activity. if sent byte is more than recieving byte than may be your pc is affected by virus.

    setting:

    open internet explorer tools/option-> option/properties-> connection and remove mark from all. clear history and delete all cookies and offline contents. in advance tab click on reset which reset of all setting of your internet explorer.

    if it is not working than download new mozilla firefox which is free.

  3. you are using old version of internet explorer download mozilla fire fox after downloading go to tools its above on your screen when you will open mozilla fire fox then select add-ons install all add-ons then check updates your internet is ready

    my advise that after this steps you should download nod32:system mechanic which will run your internet very fast and secure

  4. IE7

    =======

    Over time IE7 seems to set its own (or programs do) tick boxes in the advance tab.

    In IE7 Tools >Internet Options >Advance Tab

    Click Restore advance settings defaults button.

    Then scroll the listings down to near the bottom and:

    Tick empty temp files when browser closes (this empties the cache, which if not empty, will stop you from going online).

    Bullet disable phishing filter (optional. Leave it on if you want that type of protection, usually for financial data like internet banking)

    Delete Browser History, cookies, add ons,  the whole lot regularly.

    Close the browser to set the settings
