under the leaves theres this weird gunk under them

  1. It looks like something laid eggs. I have found this stuff before on my tree, but there wasn't that much of it, but it was fuzzy looking,too.


  2. The tree has an insect called scale. You need a systemic insecticide (Ortho, for example). Whatever you get to treat it with, read the labels and make certain it's not harmful to fruit trees or ornamentals. Apply as directed.

    Once done, keep in mind the scale, when dead, are going to cling to the foliage like barnacles. So don't be fooled into thinking they're still alive and give up in despair. =)

  3. Gummosis.   Or the sun has damaged the bark on the trunk of your tree.  Probably not since you'd have a white "paint" on the trunk.
