Whats wrong with my mp3 player and can i fix it?

i own an alba mp31gd12 and ive had it about a month. This morning i woke up and turned it on as i walked to work and...nothing. it said 0000099 and then turned off it did this every time i tried on the way to work. anyway i tried it again just now and it says i have 26 tracks ( i did have 15 albums and a whole host of random tracks) and plays each track at double speed. Ive tried deleting them using the mp3 and on every one it turns off when i hit yes and the tracks still there. So ive tried inserting it into my pc and formating it and it crashed widnows explorer. ive read the manual and there seems no help. Im totally at a loss, any help?
