Whats wrong with my nails?

Ok, this is the first tim ever i have had long nails.. I had the worst nail chewing habit ever.. But one day i just stopped. I loved long nails so much i use to get the fake jell nails, but they destroyed my nails when i took then off, my nails turned paper thin for a while, then they eventually went back to normal. Now my nails are really long, they get really dry and peel little layer pieces off, But that's not what bothers me the most, both of my middle finger nails feel like there trying to grow upwards, like, that feeling when you bend a nail, that's what it feels like. but constantly, and it is the most annoying feeling ever. I love long nails so much, and i don't want to cut them. But do you know what could be going on?

I can help you with the peeling thing.

I had the same problem with nail biting. Then when I stopped, they'd always break!

You need two things:

First buy a nail file that has a bunch of sides. Sometimes they are long, or fat (like the one here: http://www.trendyprincess.com/photogalle...  ) and they coem in all different colors. Each side is usually labeled "Step 1," "Step 2," ETC. Use that- OFTEN

Second, you need Sally Hansen's Hard as Nails Nail polish. Anything by Sally Hansen that says it with strengthen nails is good. You can even just use the clear one as a base, then use whatever you want on top

You might want to see a manicurist and ask what she can do to fix them.

You can buy clear polish that strengths and keeps your nails healthy. I think I use some Sally Hansen product [Sally something I'm sorry if it's wrong I don't have it with me right now...] and it makes my nails look beautiful.

When you chew your nails they tend to grow upward... heep them trimmed until they start growing normally.  You can also buy fast growing nails polish to speed it up.

at the beauty supply they have something called renew-a-nail it WORKS GREAT on the pealing and thinness of nails (it's kinda high 7.99) though. as far as the upward thing that is just your nail and once you get them in better condition then you could smooth and buff the that will level it out some.
