I painted my car like two weeks ago and 5 days later i wet sanded it and buffed it. Now there is a white film on the paint, it looks like dried wax but it will not come off. I have painted many cars and this has never happened so any help would be nice....

  1. well... what kind of paint did u use? and if ur car a newer model a middle model or a classic? (really old)

  2. Your problem is that when you buffed the sand marks out of the paint you must not have wiped all the buffing wax off the car and it has dried onto the car. Its is ridiculously hard to get rid of, you should try to buff the buffing wax off then make sure you wash all the buffing wax off. Next time when you are done buffing a mark out make sure you wipe the whole area with a wet cloth.

If your going to sand it again make sure you use a really fine grain, and make sure you don't go through the clear coat into the actual paint or you'll have to re-paint the whole panel

  3. Try sanding it again with 2500 or finer.Use a coarse compound and contact the paint rep.

  4. It sounds like your paint wasn't cured as if you used laquer thinner instead of reducer. Or the wrong reducer .re- sand and repaint make sure you use the right reducer, for the climate too.
