  1. thats normal.  Pumpkin flowers dont last long.. a day or two is it,..   There are two types you will see... those that are just a flower (male) and then those that have a flower and a little green bump just below the flower.. those are the females and will develop into pumpkins.   Each Pumpkin plant produce both but more males than females

  2. Pumpkin flowers are short lived  I have grown pumpkins for years. What you are experiencing is normal. Did you know you can eat the flowers? Collect them while they are open and dip them into a batter and fry them. They are very good.!

  3. I know that my plants did this last year when I grew them. (It was my first year) the flowers died, and then some of them eventually grew into pumpkins. I think it's normal, because my zucchini plants did the same this year and they produced gigantic squashes! I would just be patient and they should be fine. The flowers only stay for a day or two anyways, but it's a sign that your plant is doing the right thing! Also, make sure the base of the plant has plenty of dirt, 'a hill' is what they call it.(Pile up a large amount of loose dirt around where it comes out of the ground) I know mine didn't, and my pumpkins ended up with root rot due to the watering, and a I lost a few of my plants.

  4. The flowers don't last long.  You will see that there are male and female flowers, (the female have baby fruit at the base of the bloom. )  I hope you have some bees buzzing around to pollinate them, if not use a soft water color brush and move the pollen from the male stamen to the female pistil.  It all happens very fast. And needs to happen soon.  Do you have any young pumpkins set yet?  If so, let them take over, don't encourage many more at this late date, at least not if Halloween is your goal.  If you have a late last frost date I would still not let more the 2 or three stay on a vine.
