I just walked into my room and my puppy, a mini pinscher, was running around like she had no balance and was running into walls, and would back up and run into the wall again, she seemed like she didn't know where she was or what she was doing.. she ran into her cage and started flopping around..this lasted for about 45 seconds..i'm going to take her to the vet first thing in the morning but does anyone know what this could be???

  1. It's Die!!!

    Damaged by truck!!

  2. VET

  3. i dont remember the name  but its caused by a worm and hopefully she will last through the night..

  4. It really sounds like some kind of seizure - I know you don't want to hear that, but you're already planning to take your dog to the vet, so I have no advice other than just try to stay calm and think happy thoughts. Young animals are made of rubber, just like children - they bounce back! The best of luck to you.

  5. Don't wait until the vets open, see if there is an out of hours number.

  6. Sounds to me like she was having a siezure. Has she ever done this before? Good idea taking her to the vet, if she is indeed having siezures, she needs to be on meds to prevent them. Good luck with your baby and let us know how she does at the vet tomorrow!

  7. FITTING - VET

But don't give up - if this is what it is, it can be controlled.

  8. Wow, that's pretty scary.  Sounds like brain damage or a seizure or both.  Did someone shake her too hard?  Hit her?  I'm sorry but this doesn't sound good.  However, puppies have terrific bounce-back abilities so maybe she will be alright.

  9. sounds like vertigo, your guy may have had a seizure too, did he make noises (scream) or become incontinant while he was shaking? vertigo can be caused by ear infections or neroligical issuses like tumors, strokes or distemper... I would honestly fork out the extra money to go to a 24 hr vet, this is a very uncomfortable condition, the entire room is spinning which causes major nausea on top of the discomfort of the underlaying condition.
