Whats wrong with my sub? Is it blown?

The other day i was driving and i had notice that it wasnt subbing. i asked someone and they said it might be the amps overheated cuz its been like 105degrees. so i tried it in the morning but nothing. so i did process of elimination. i hooked a different amp to the sub1 (bad sub), i got nothing. then hooked up the different amp and a different sub, i got it working. so i hooked up the original amp to sub2 (good sub) and it worked. so the sub was bad. i dont know all the specs. but its a 12" phoenix gold titanium series. (someone said if its blown then when u push in the sub you can hear a low scratch noise. but it doesnt do it.) SO WHAT DO YOU THINK IT IS?

it might be possible that the sub is blown ,but you have to check a few stuff before you can say its is truly blown.

1) check the wiring to the sub to the amp,check to see if it is broken inside the wire or just replace the wire.

2)If step 1 doesn't work,unscrew the speaker from the box and check the wiring inside the box ,sometimes the wiring that hooks up to the terminal from the speaker gets loose.

if you check both of the above and it doesn't solve your problem then you know you have a blown sub.SOMETIMES you know when the sub is blown by push in the sub and see if you hear a low scratch noise like what you said,but not all subs blow like that,some subs can blow without hearing that low noise.

im not sure but i think some might have a fuse you could try to replace...don't quote me on that please

ok if your sub was blown your music would be reall fuzzy comin out of your sub and if its not that you may need to rewire it. make sure that the wires to the actuall subs are correct.

maybe bad wiring in the sub. i'd have someone that knows alot about that stuff to look at it.
