Whats wrong with natalie's dechy's hat falling down?

yeah, what does it have anything to do with the game itself? i heard the umpire said if the hat dropped before she hit the ball .....etc etc ...

i think its to do with the distraction of it.

To be honest, its just an old wimbledon rule!doesn't mean much, its just if her ha falling of was the cause of the shot then its an unfair advantage.

However this is a rather stupid rule! lol not really fair

(though i can't really comment as i was so desparate for ana ivanovic to win anyway!) hehe

I think that was ridiculous call from the umpire. She had the point there was no-way Ana was returning that.

Also the umpire just now in the Rafa game grrrrrrrr! Nadal got a point to make it break point on Gulbis serve yet the umpire said Rafa never made the drop shot.

Ana claims it was a distraction for her that's why she lost the point even though there was no way she could have gotten that ball.  Any thing that is on the course while the game is in progress is considered a distraction and the players have to play the point over.

It is classed as a foreign object on the playing surface. It would be the same as a tennis ball popping out of the skirt/shorts. The umpire had no choice in making the call. It's part of the rules.

how is it a foreign object when the hat was still on her head? i can see that being the case had it fallen onto the court but it was still nestled in her ponytail after she had hit that volley. it's absurd to consider that as a distraction. ana was just so desperate that she had knit-pick on something because she was in such a pickle and she wanted that win. and the umpire is such a disgrace because she had already come in contact with that shot and as said ana wasn't even there to return it.  it just's a crying shame all-round. had she won that game we could have seen a historical upset yesterday. because in my eyes that was nat-nat's match.
