My friend got this job offer from a person he knows in egypt... but it just sounded fishy...can u tell me what is wrong!!

here is the email word by word

Hi ****,

Miss u guy! I needed to talk to u for some time.

Now, I would like to give you a simple outline of what I have for you and what I am asking you to do for me in Lebanon.

Presently, I am involved as a financial Broker for a financing co. abroad. I am lending businesses short-term loans in the min. amount of $ 30 000 000 for 5-10 years on a very low interest of 3%.

The docs required are very straightforward:

A one-page budget breakdown for the loan desired ( Project Application letter)

An informal letter from the credit dept. at the bank expressing an intention to co-operate with client.( Letter of Intent)

A form of bank Guarantee: that could be leased from a prime bank, could be a check deposited in a safe box at the bank, could be an LC...etc in one third of the amount.

  1. Sounds like a foreign scam to me!  It doesn't sound legitimate or legal at all from what I read. I would try to do some serious online research to see what info I could find on this "job offer" in question. Whatever your friend does, tell him do not send any money or give out any personal info such as ss number, bank account e.t.c. to his person!

  2. Sounds fishy for several reasons.

    1)  3% is an unheard of rate for loans like this.

    2)  I sincerely doubt the method related would work.  Corporporations have long term relationships with their financial institution.  They don't borrow $30 mil by mail.

Unlessyou friend is very experienced in this field,  he should stay away

  3. Well give them credit..They took there time to put that scam together very well......
