  1. If you want to blame Bush, read this.

  2. FOLLOW THE MONEY TRAIL!!!

    FEAR FEAR FEAR

fear and money grease the hinges to the gates to heaven.

Fear is being funded by the governments of the world.

Scientists spreading fear are getting RICH!!!

Al Gore owns a carbon credit company while his own house uses more energy than a neighborhood.

He justifies it by buying carbon credits from himself.

Environmentalism is a religion and fear is the glue that binds all religions together.

    Sacred Mother EARTH

Lets restore Human sacrifice to stop global warming!!!

Humans are a cancer on the earth and earth needs to be rid of this cancer

  3. Let's start by dispelling the biggest lies here.  No one has any economic interest in fooling you about global warming.  That is the most absurd idea I have heard here.  Obviously, the largest  money interests involved are the oil companies. They are the  ones with the largest amount of  $$ at stake.  The big money powers  who's profits depend on maintaining the status quo.

    That is obvioius.

Yes, there are conflicting opinions about whether we are contributing to global warming.  I still think the majority of scientists agree  that we are.

Some people here have expressed the idea that scientists who are in a concensus are usually wrong, and it's the maverick scientist who have the truth.  Yeah,  that happened thirty years ago when almost no scientist thought we were causing global warming.  Those who pointed it out were the mavericks.  Maybe the majority have finally come around to agree with it.

Other people on these boards have asked about a fear in the 70s,  of a global cooling.  I'm not sure what they are talking about,  because friends and I were discussing  global warming as early as 1975.

The same thing is true about the environment in general.  We have been battling for 40 years to raise the public's awareness about what we are doing to our environment.  We still aren't there yet.

All the measures that are being recommended to slow global warming are none other than the measures that we should be taking anyway.  Regardless of whether we are causing global warming.  We have already placed the earth and it's ecosystems in critical condition, even without global warming.  Every ecosytsem on earth is in danger of collapsing.  If they collapse, the human  race goes extinct.  Humans can not exist separate from the ecosystems of which we are a part.  Everything is interconnected and interdependent.

If anyone is scamming anyone, it's the Bush administration and the big money/ big industry crowd that backs them .  Bush had his lawyers change the wording of the govt climate study done by real scientists.  The lawyers stripped all the teeth out of the report, not scientists, lawyers. The lead scientist had to quit in order to make the truth public.  He said that the scientists were afraid to tell the truth under the Bush administration.  They would lose their jobs.

Do you have any idea how much taxpayer money goes directly to the oil companies through tax credits and subsidies?  Tens of billions of dollars every year.  and Exxon just reported $40 billion in profits for 2007.  These profits are partly taxpayer funded.  These are some of the richest corporations in the world;  and we are subsidizing them?

When a recent energy bill had a proposal to take $21 billion in tax credits from these wealthy, profitable companies and put it into alternative energy, which is the future, Bush threatened to veto it.  He didn't have to,  because 40 Republican senators stripped the measure out of the bill. Why?  because they are beholden to the oil companies.  That $21billion represents just 1% of the oil company profits.  And by no means is that all the oil company subsidies.  they would still walk away with billions$ in tax payer money.

We could have a nearly 100% solar electric grid by the end of this century, and 65% by 2050:   cheap, 100% clean energy that will never, ever need any fuel.  The technology is already here and it is competitive with the price of fossil fuel power plants.  In fact, when you really add up all the costs to our country from continued fossil fuel use, the solar is many times cheaper, in my opinion.

Here's how we can achieve that. This is an article from January 2008  Scientific American

      http://www.sciam.com/article.cfm?id=a-so...

The cost of this plan in taxpayer money would be spread over 20 years or more, at less than what we are giving to the oil companies in 10 years.

Once you have a clean electrical grid, you can have all electric cars trucks buses etc.

  4. Anger must be met with action in this count. But doing the right thing is great. Voting is very important. I think we are not aware, do not care, and like 1929 did not see the dust bowl coming. I attended the Focus the Nation at Sierra College on 1-31-08. The event was the 2% Solution, a 2% reduction over 40 years to solve GW. Oil is a nonrenewable resource and we are running out-but not soon - $30 Gal for gas. The 2% Solution is ok for the USA for a 10 year plan to cut 20%. But over those 10 years, we have to be building renewable energy and about that time, we can cut an additional 20%. This should get us from importing any oil. We must have a pollution surcharge where we pay the real price (health effects, GW and cleanup) for oil, NG, coal, cigarettes, Cooling Towers, Cars, trains and airplanes. Humans have to put some of this nonrenewable into renewable energy like small hydro-electric dams, concentrating solar power plants, wind and wave machines, nuks, and geothermal. With the peak of oil in the 1970’s, peak NG in the 1990’s, having mined cheep coal, the peak of ocean fishing in the 1980’s, and the peak of uranium in the 1990’s, humans must stop procrastinating and make real changes to keep earth sustainable including in the energy debate, finance and regulation.

Many of mankind’s advancements cause earth surface to warm, destroy the ozone layer, kill off endanger species, heat cities, and in some way cause more dramatic destruction.  Blacktop and buildings (roads, roofs and parking lots-heat cities), deforestation (air pollution, soil erosion), duststorms (increase hurricanes and cyclones, cause lung diseases), fires (cause pollution, mud slides, and deforestation), refrigerants (like CFC's) and solvents (including benzene destroy the ozone layer raising skin cancer rates) and plastics; cars, airplanes, ships and most electricity production (causes pollution including raised CO2 levels and increased lung and other diseases); these human problems we must fix to keep life on earth sustainable! Humans have destroyed half of the wetlands, cut down nearly half of the rain forest, and advance on the earths grasslands while advancing desertification which increases duststorms.

The result is:  change is on the way, we just do not know what changes (where and when). Look beyond the hype, beyond the weather, beyond a quarterly report and beyond today. President Bush has made a choice of energy (ethanol) over food and feeding the starving people around the world; this is a choice China has rejected. The fact is Bush wants to buy your food to send to starving people since our is not available.

Over the next 90 years carbon dioxide is projected to skyrocket as human’s burn more fossil fuels. The problem is, the oil will be gone in 30 years at present rates of consumption without projected increases. We have to come up with what will take its place. Again we have to cleanup our mess. One of the big problems we have is at some time Yellowstone will blow its top again, as the magma move closer to the surface, creating a nuk winter. After that we will not have to worry about the destruction of the ozone layer.

But with that we must understand we have never seen what is now happening before. CO2 has never lead to temperature change, but temperature change has led to increases in CO2. The models have to be made as we go along with current evidence! But again adding a small amount of CO2 to the atmosphere enlarges the earths sun collection causing warming; increase water in the atmosphere and it forms clouds cooling earth but sometimes causing flooding. Even natural events are warming earth and causing destruction. The sun has an increased magnetic field causing increases in earthquakes (more destruction), volcanoes (wow, great destruction), and sun spots. Lighting produces ozone near the surface (raising air pollution levels). The USA Mayor's have taken a stand and I believe are on the right track, we can have control and can have economic growth. The sun is available to produce energy, bring light to buildings and makes most of human’s fresh water. Composting is the answer to desertification. New dams are the answer to fresh water storage, energy and cooling earth by evaporation, we need many small ones all over (California needs 100 by 2012 and has not even started).

That is why I founded CoolingEarth.org, a geoengineering web sight where you can learn more about earth, the atmosphere, and how to sustain life on earth’s surface.

  5. Have you ever saw a cartoon where the character gets, a lot of money and their eyes go kaching, and money symbols pop  up on their eyes, it's the same way with the rich, it blinds them from everything else. and as for the next president, i don't care who it is, how much worse can it get, thanks to George W Bush, former oil company entrepreneur, {{they all went bankrupt, that he had any doings with, Go figure}}

  6. Awww... don't feel guilty for yourself, scream into a pillow and blame all the pity on GEORGE BUSH!

    ^^ Lmao

Whoeva gave me 9 thumbs down fck u

Whoeva gave me 5 thumbs up ty! and more powa 2 u

  7. simple.. dont buy junk you dont need.. if you want to stop the factories - stop supporting them...

follow this link to save the planet and your money...

    http://www.gomestic.com/Personal-Finance...

  8. Those factory owners provide you with your clothes and your food as well as everything else we use.  Would you prefer to live in the wilderness with nothing.  That would probably be much more destructive anyway.  The earth is a giant ball of rock with iron core and a liquid iron outer core.  I don't think it needs our help.  We need to responsible enough to reduce pollution to an acceptible level.  Apparently your tolerance is less than some others.  We spend billions on cleaning up the environment.  How much should we allocate?  There will always be some pollution no matter what you do.

  9. well you can start being more helpful by using your consumer money to by organic clothes instead of factory pesticide cotton made clothes

and choosing a president that will hopefully follow his/her word on what he/she wants to do to help the environment

the money-lovers are the people that are what's wrong

  10. I like what Sloein says .... until the end.  Follow the $$$ is right, from your hand to the retailer, to the trucker, to the shipper, to the maketer, and then to the manufacturer / designer.  It takes a while to go around, but it does get there.  Also, there are the hidden costs, gasoline to move the product for example.

In the link -  that is what we can do, Today.

Also, when we go shopping, we do not NEED plastic OR paper bags, bring your own.  There is usually a bag discount for doing so as well, I use a canvas sac when I go retailing.

  11. Angry and retarded eh? That's a shame. Still luckily all those nasty business owners take no notice of people like you and so enable you to grow up in a nice rich, easy, comfortable environment.

  12. I hoope so buit idk. Plus who is there to blame?

  13. The president will be able to do nothing about that, even if so inclined which none of them will be.

The factory owners are really large groups of people, the stockholders, who depend on the company's board of directors to run the company for a profit.

BTW, the largest industrial polluters on Earth are China and India.  The U.S.A. is leading in lowering industrial pollution levels followed by U.K.

Anger won't cure a thing.  When you grow up, become a board member or even CEO of one of the polluters and change things!

  14. Please feel free to take the lead on this, stop eating food delivered buy trucks made in those factories, out of steel made in factories, that use fuel made in refineries. Please stop using your computer and living in your home because every thing in your home was most likely made in a factory some where. When you stop living with all that for a month please come back and tell us all how ANGRY you are.

    Danni

  15. From 1912 to 1996 there was a country that all the factories owners made no profit and all the people had free health care.  All the people were equal and food was shared out equally.

I wonder how come nobody points to the Soviet Union as the greatest experiment in human history.

  16. i know its scary

  17. I agree completely with you, but of course if they did care enough about the pollution, then the economy would go down, which for some reason is more important to adults than the world ending is.

  18. Welcome to the Homogocene, the geological era of sameness-no biodiversity and lots of mass extinction.

Just get used to it. Nothing is going to change. It will only get worse. Grab some Pina Coladas and sit on the beach waiting for the end. At least in the industrialised nations we'll have a bit of time to watch it all.

I'm past angry, denial, etc. I'm at acceptance. The faster you get here the less angry you'll be.

For all you naive hopeful people, forget it, it's all too little too late. Breakfast in the ruins anyone?

  19. It's all George Bush's fault.  Never mind all the celebrities flying in their private jets, wasting gas in their 8 cylinder cars that get 10mpg, or the Code Pink people that spray paint vehicles and spit on our soldiers.

Yeah, that Steven Jobs is evil for producing all those ipods that get thrown away, and all those laptops with those evil batteries.

    Chill.

  20. do you like having nice things and going to the store and getting what ever you want? its not the factories fault! we are the ones demanding it! do you want a car? do you like having electricity?

  21. calm down - the factory owners are just doing what YOU want them to - so price stays low for YOU.

it appears the next president will almost certainly do more on this issue than any other has.

(especially if that president is John McCain or Barack Obama)

  22. Yeah, I was angry for a while too. Sadly, Most people just don't give a d**n about the planet. Scientists tried and groups warned, but people are more concerned about money and their own conveniences.

It may seem like Bush's fault, but it's really the peoples. no one is forcing all these people and factory owners to be filthy. the government doesn't ave to mandate somethng for it to get done.  and even if they were mandated these places would just find a way to pay off the senator

well, it was in the bible and prophecized by so many, years before that man would destroy himself. I just didn't think they would be so happy and willing to do it

  23. I'm so angry to! My dad says it's George Bush's fault! But now were having a new president and let's hope and pray he or she is not ANYTHING like George Bush!

  24. i farted (to polute the air) because of ur stupidity to p**s u off more.... global warming is a hoax... do ******* research (dont look for the ones "buy the full version of this global warming for $10" because its just to lie and make money... u wont find anything free about this lie... if u do.. that person is just as stupid as u r...

bush doesnt do anything because he dont care about lies...

  25. i hope they do.
