I know what you mean. I wanted my avatar to be a pic of myself for a change, so all my contacts could know what I look like, but it wouldn't let me... :(

a day later....

yay! i have a pic of me! yeah...that's what i look like. i was messing with the effects on my laptop...and i like looking at my blue self... hehe :D
