  1. An exciting qualifier

Some interesting fruitful manoeuvres at the start of the race

Seeing how team stategies unfold throughout the race.

EDIT: Redsnookerball- nicely put. I feel exactly the same!

  2. 1 Race start. Very exciting and keeps one on the edge of the seat. Anything can happen here. Overtaking and of course... the first corner accidents

2 podiums, to see the top 3 celebrating

3 overtakes. That's what racing is all about

  3. Hoping someone will run into steve pointless ryder - looking at the calander knowing BBC will be taking coverage back over soon -so we dont have those BLOODY adverts !

Hoping they would give more air time to the great PIKEY MAN       the only one on ITV that actually knows somthing about    F1

And watching the whinging Ferrari team lose

Bring back screaming murray walker I say.

  4. of course th 20 min before the  start with all celebrities and car girl

  5. When I'm at Albert Park (annual pilgrimage), on Friday morning, sitting in the grandstand waiting for the FP1 to start and feeling so happy to be there.

Saturday evening after qualifying, looking at the grid, the Quali times, the sector times , Q1/2/3 times, what they did in Saturday practice, reading the team/driver quotes and trying to figure out who is light/heavy and watching the weather report.

The race start - especially when I'm at the track. The cars approaching the grid positions, hearing the engines scream, watching the drivers zigzag  to get heat into their tyres, the nervous wait for the backmarkers to get into their positions before the red lights come on and go off - exciting stuff!

  6. mine only 1 other ;) which includes-

    Friday warm up

    . Qualifying, q1, q2, q3

    . Race start

    . Overtakes

    . Stratedgy

    . Podiums

  7. quali is good, se who gets in top 10.

start is cool, especily if sum1 makes a great start

    overtakings rock!!

  8. .

    The smell !

    The noise !

    The action !

.....and that's just the hotdog stall when I enquire whether they have a vegan alternative :)

    .

  9. I just love the tention of qualifying and racing, the crashes unless someone dies and lewis hamilton winning

  10. Favourites (in order)

    1 The first corner

    2 Q3

3 Retirement of the Ferraris (that might be first, come to think of it)

  11. The best part is the start, I'm always anxious at the start not because of what might happen but because it's too much to take all in and I don't want to miss anything.

The overtaking of course is the next best thing.

I struggle to find something else that stands out to be honest.

Maybe trying to figure out myself how the strategies are going to pan out and where everyone is going to end up after the final rounds of pit stops and if a faster car will find itself behind a slower one and we can have a race.

For whatever reason this rarely ever happens.

I've lost interest in qualifying unfortunately, I don't like this format, I watch Q1 and Q2 with more interest because there's plenty of drivers in the slower cars I want to see do well.

Dare I say I never hang around long enough to even watch the podiums anymore.

    It's the same old thing.

If a driver is going to have a disappointed look on his face you already should know it by watching the race.

  12. Grid girls at the start then sector 1 into the race then immediately following the startegy of the final pit.

  13. The race start is number one.

    the overtakes.

and the anouncers  pissing their pants at the overtakes 3

  14. because of the lack of on track action the last minute of q2 & q3 are the best part, this is where the real race is done, this is the only "victory" that isnt known 10 laps before its over and in too many cases after the 2nd  lap of the race

second for me is race start, turns one and two, who will advance and how far? who will hold their line in a high dolar game of chicken? and who won't make it at all?

3rd is tough for me, its either the podium the glory of victory and the team catching the champagine, or its friday practice, this is the time (here in the states at least) where we have a lont of time to fill with not much of real importance to coment on, this is the time when all the little technical details of car designes and updates are discussed at length

  15. When attending a race weekend

    1. closing the front door behind me as I leave the house on the Thursday morning.

    2. the first drink whilst pitching the tent.

    3. waking up on the Friday morning and going trackside and knowing you are going to love every minute of being there.

    When watching on the TV

    1. Hearing Moby on the Saturday. you know quali will follow shortly.

    2. again hearing Moby on the Sunday as you know the race will follow shortly.

    3. here's where I cheat - everything from the formation lap to the after race interviews:)

  16. The start.

    Any overtaking that may occur.

The last bit of the race when all the pitstop rubbish is over and we have an actual race to the finish.

  17. 1.  The pits

    2.  The babes

    3.  The ultimate moment when they merge to become pit babes

  18. - Martin Brundle's interviews on the grid at the start. They're so funny because he's so rude. There was one this season where no one would talk to him and he kept saying "We will find someone, I promise"... about five minutes later Massa gave him a nod but I don't think he was too pleased to be bothered just before he had to race either.

    - The race itself, obviously! I usually like it in the middle when the list of racers narrows down after any accidents so we know who has a fair chance of winning (not that I like accidents happening, it just gets exciting when it narrows down!).

    - The podium. My mum always makes my dog clap to the drum/cymbal part in the Italian national anthem (played whenever a Ferrari or Italian driver wins the race) and it's rather amusing. Also the champagne spraying is quite fun.

  19. Nothing compares to the 15mins on the grid before the lights go out. The commentators hyperbole, the 'beautiful people' wondering around aimlessly, drivers in 'deep concentration' mode. Then they all disappear, the grid clears to reveal the beautiful cars and the sport can begin!

After all these years watching F1, this is the only time in the whole weekend that it feels like i'm watching my very first GP.

    Can't really beat that feeling.

  20. Qualifying cos anything can happen

race start < Most of the times there are some crashes at the 1st corner or 1st lap

Strategy < As we seen in Silverstone Rubens strategy was supreme
