  5. across the universe

  6. the lost boys, requiem for a dream, american history x.

  7. con air, godfather1, friday + many more

  8. pulp fiction

  9. For comedies I recommend:

"It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" starring Spencer Tracy and just about every comedian working in the early 60's. An old man, driving like a maniac has an accident.  When the other drivers on the highway go to see if they can help, he dies while telling them about a buried treasure a few hundred miles away.  What follows is the craziest race you every see as greed drives them into a frenzy.

"Harold And Maude"-troubled teen (he would be EMO if the movie is ever remade) Harold is friendless and suffers an overbearing mother who expects him to be perfect.  When an elderly woman, Maude, steals his car at a funeral; they become instant friends.  The lessons that Maude teaches Harold are ones that are still important today.

"Arsenic And Old Lace" starring Carry Grant and Peter Lorrie.  Theater critic (Grant) discovers that his sweet, elderly aunts are serial killers.  What follows is pure bedlam. Directed by Frank Capra.

"Animal Crackers" starring The Marx Brothers is one of their best.  This movie has some of the best one-liners you will ever hear.  You can skip the young couple singing, but don't miss the musical performances from Chico and Harpo.
