  2. My favorite breed would have to be the Appaloosa. For many different reasons. Some of which are that i have one (:

Plus i love the different colors they have. All are different, and they change there coat everyyear. they blend into nature which i LOVE!

I also love paints and pintos, i love the big spots they have. PLuse they ussally look like there mom. Which is really cute. I like watching a little mini clone.

but like i said apps cause they are different you wont see to apps alike.

  3. OMG, there's different types of horses?? Wow.

(I seriously didn't know that, not being sarcastic)

I like the wild ones. There so free... :D

  4. Mine are sports horses which is a breed of a thoroughabred and something like an Irish Draught. I love these types because they are very athletic and capable at all equestrian activites, but have a lovely temperment as well and have good bone structure so are less prone to injuries

    xx

  5. OTTB. They are like a box of chocolates as in you never know quite what you are going to get and they are all different from eachother. They are all very rewarding. I love to repurpose a horse and find it a loving family

  6. Holsteiners.

though they are not a fully common breed

    they are amazing.

They date back to two hundred years

    and are AMAZING

    for eventing...especially jumping.

    I have a holsteiner myself

and i can say i have officially found my dream horse.

He, as well as other holsteiners i have met, have:

    -a gentle personality

    -convay human emotions [i swear!!]

    -are extremely extremely athletic

    -WILLING, COMPETITIVE, DETERMINED

-beautiful and well sculpted...like an athlete!

=D anyone take my advice. if you are looking for a new jumping/eventing/dressage horse.....try out a holsteiner! they are incredible!

  7. Ex-racers, specifically ex-National Hunt racers.

They are bred for going fast and jumping, so with the right re-training they make amazing showjumpers.

I wouldn't want to own one though, I couldn't keep up!

  8. I love Arabians! Not only are there big marble eyes adorable but there dished head is really cute! They are unique as well. Instead of having 18 ribs they have 16 or 17 (i forget). They were also one of the first horse breeds! Sorry I could blab on forever about horses in general!

Oh and Haflingers...OMG ADORABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh and what Arch S or w/e said....ITS HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    STOP HORSE SLAUGHTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

    STOP

  9. american saddlebred

i ride them duh look they are beautiful!

    go to youtube type in

American Saddlebred and the second girl you see is me!

  10. My type is a all around horse! A Morgan is my breed. Because it is America's oldest breed! Truly the all around horse. The Morgan is easily recognized by his proud carriage, upright graceful neck, and distinctive head with expressive eyes. Deep bodied and compact, the Morgan has strongly muscled quarters. The intelligence, willingness, zest for life, and good sense of the Morgan is blended with soundness of limb, athleticism, and stamina. Companionable and comfortable on a quiet pleasure ride anywhere open skies beckon, working as a sensible partner in a long day of ranch work or endurance riding, waiting alert and ready to enter a show ring, or performing in formal riding disciplines, the Morgan is a versatile horse within a versatile breed. Morgans have remarkably few medical conditions present in the breed. There are rare occurrences of equine conditions that are common to most or all other breeds of horses, such as Cushing's disease, a hormonal abnormality commonly encountered in many breeds of horses in advanced age.Morgans are a long-lived, very healthy breed and suffer remarkably few problems with their legs and feet. They are well known for being easy keepers. They need a minimum of grain and grass compared with most other breeds, and they should be monitored to be sure they are not eating too much, especially sweetened feeds. Morgans were a favored mount by cavalry soldiers in the Civil War. They were sensible under fire. The could march tirelessly all day. They maintained their condition on unpredictable rations. And they were loyal to their riders in all circumstances. Morgans recorded by Civil War stories include Reinzi, Charlemagne, Little Sorrel.  The Quarter horse stallion Joe Bailey was a son of Headlight Morgan. Jubilee King, a famous Morgan, was also registered under the Quarter Horse name of Yellow Jacket. Yet another well-known Quarter Horse sire, Joe Hancock, was sired by Redolent, a son of the Morgan Red Oak. In 1920 the King Ranch of Kingsville, Texas, purchased the two-year-old colt Lucky from the U.S. Government Farm for the purpose of upgrading the stock horses they were breeding. Countless Morgan mares were purchased from farms in Illinois and turned out on the range in the King Ranch remuda but can not be identified as the offspring they produced where shown as being out of “Morgan Mare” in the original AQHA registry books. Ninety-percent of today’s Saddlebreds carry Morgan blood. The original list of stallions selected as foundation sires by the National Saddle Horse Breeder’s Association in 1899 included the Morgan stallions Cabell’s Lexington and Coleman’s Eureka. Today, the majority of Saddlebreds carry Morgan blood through the Black Hawk grandsons, Gist’s Black Hawk and Indian Chief; and the great-grandson, Peavine. Reliable, loyal, tireless, and versatile, a Morgan is the best in my books!!! They work my 151 acres & give me their heart. This is just a few reasons I love my Morgans!!!!

  11. Quarter Horses:  I like their temperament, versatility, confirmation, speed & agility.  I also....Like big butts & I cannot lie!!!!  LOL!!!

Others that also turn my head, Gypsy Vanner, Fresian, Morgans.

    **EDIT**

Forgot what breed Debi's horse Falco is, but I love his head too.

  12. Wow... People are being really silly with this question. I expected to see serious answers... but I do like centaurs especially in the Chronicles of Narnia Prince Caspian!

  13. i like quarter horses and paints horses mostly because they are a better handling horse than most, and they also have great color.

  14. My favorite type of horse is The Paso.  I like paso because they  are like any normal horse they walk, trot, canter, and gallop!.  But not only can they do that they also have additional gaits which are Paso, the Corto, and The Largo.  This is an awesome horse to have and They are fun to show too.  I love them and i think everyone should try one just to get the feel of how different and smooth all their gatis are.  They are also extremely gental animals and yet they has spunk to them which can make them available for any age rider or owner!!!!

  15. My favorite is a Tennessee Walker...not the really thin leggy ones but the thicker more solid looking. You get the smooth ride without your rear looking huge on the poor beastie ; )

  16. I like

    cobs

    Friesians

    dartmoor ponies

and gentle ole shires, with long shaggy manes!

  17. I think the smooth gait of the Missouri Foxtrotter makes it the best trail horse, but, if I'm looking for an all-around horse, I'll take a Quarter Horse every time.

  18. I like a lot of different horse breeds. I like the quarter horses for their sweet nature and dependable personality's. I like paints because I love their colors and patterns and they can be mysterious. I like Arabians because of how graceful they are and how they move. I love Thoroughbred's because they have a lot of energy and the way they run and how fast they can go is just amazing. I really love all types of horses, their are just too many to describe on here. They all have a uniqueness to them and in my heart I wish I could have one of each breed to experience the pros's and con's with them. Yeah so I don't really have a favorite breed, if it's a horse then I like it. :]

  19. Camargue. followed closely by Lipizzan.

    Camargue horses free.

    Lipizzan Fantastically disciplined.

  20. Probably morgans but i love all horses  oh yeah and drafts cuz their soooo sweet

Oh and what Arch S said is absolutely horrible!

  21. Welp since every breed on here listed so far descended from Arabian blood, I will have to say the Arabian is and always will be my favorite horse. The Arabian is the original and oldest horse breed!

  22. I prefer centaurs. You can ride them like a horse but still be able to talk some sense into them...

    http://www.scott-eaton.com/2007/centaur-...

  23. Andalusian's .because they have the beauty and grace plus the size and stamina, also you don't know what you will get till they mature.

  24. QUARTER HORSES and Paints. I love them both! They're generally:

    ~Extremely gentle

    ~Tall

    ~Easy to train

    ~Smooth

    ~Beautiful

    ~Great all-arounders!

    In my eyes, they're perfect!

  25. Mustangs.

Ever since I saw the movie Hidalgo.

    (Great movie, by the way.)

  26. my favorit horse is the gypsy cob horse. they have a magical look and there temperaments are even and they have very willing personalities. i love them.

  27. Clydesdale- They're so pretty and are usually gentle and loving. When then run, their feet are pretty too.

  28. Appaloosa.

there are no two appaloosas exactly alike. every spot and pattern is different, and appies are very versatile. they're intelligent and rather fast learners, but they also can be rather stubborn. they excel in almost any discipline, including racing [or have in the past], and their vibrant colors make them stand out in a crowd of chestnuts and bays. They're durable, and eager to please.

i own two appaloosas of my own, and i love both of them to death. training them has been a challange, but it's well worth it. they're a joy to be around, and they've brought me lots of luck in the show ring as well. Trust me, you cant go wrong with spots =]
