  1. I know its a bad time to say it....but i told you so. I remember debating with others over the net back in 2005 that New Orleans should not be rebuilt. Not for citizens, homes, tourist attractions or businesses at least. I was called crazy then-and probably will still be called crazy.

If it is destroyed this time, should they rebuild?

  2. It's nature...nothing you can do about it. I hope everyone evacuates though.

  3. I honestly think that New Orleans would be more prepared to handle the adverse effects of this monster storm if it was to make landfall there. Katrina had made significant damage to the city, disrupting their production, their infrastructure and their entire lifestyle for months. the approach of katrina lead people to believe that they may have been able to ride out the storm instead of evacuating. For those who have lived to tell the tale... i think that there first impression is to start moving now.

American homes tend to be built according to the dream standard and not taking in to consideration the exposure to the elements.  This may lead to heavy destruction in terms of infrastructure. The people of New Orleans however has proven to the world that they are indeed strong. I think that they are prepared for anything that faces them

  4. In my opinion, it was a big mistake to build a city around land area like that. Even Scientist back 60 years ago said New Orleans was not meant to be build in a risky area like that. They might as well build a another city in a different location, because New Orleans goin to be hit again in another 3 years or so on.

  5. The last time i've heard it was slowing down, so hopefully it won't be as bad.

  6. I think it's very un fair but then again that's life.My best fiend moved to New orleans a little over a  month ago and she and her family are still there trying to find shelter:( I'm heartbroken.

  7. I think its really sad. I can understand why people would want to keep living there but if it was me I would have moved by now. I wouldnt want to raise my family in a place that keeps getting hit and is so devestated. I just hope FEMA dosnt bollucks it up like they did Katrina.

  8. I think its going to hit east of NewOrleans...probably Gulfport Mississippi

  9. Then we can listen to them whine and whine for another three years.

Here is an idea...if it hits again and destroys it again...Let's rebuild it again below sea level...at the cost of billions of Federal dollars.

Remember rebuild BELOW sea level again

  10. actually they are saying that it has weakened and that they don't expect it to be as bad as Katrina. BUT it will still be a very bad storm and it will cause a lot of destruction.

  11. HORRIBLE, when Katrina hit it was devastating for the people in new Orleans. Just 5 minutes ago I saw on the news how hurricane Gustave is hitting New Orleans. Very sad indeed, all the houses and buildings are going to be into the ground. I wish all the people in New Orleans good luck.

  12. Scary and not good for New Orleans, or our country.  Lets hope it lessens.  c

  13. it sucks but what can you do?  it does make you wonder why these people don't relocate.  If my home kept getting destroyed every couple years, I would move.

  14. sad news

  15. I guess I'd have ot say I'm shocked... when the gov. didn't give for repairs and it was announced that the reason was that this might happen again, I didn't believe it. I really feel bad for those who have gave everything just to get life back together and now they'll have nothing left.

I have no one there...but I am very sad & scared for them.

  16. its horrible and could be worse than katrina which i personaly think sucks- my family lives up there.

  17. It's going to be bad, but not for New Orleans. I don't think Houston will be lucky enough this time to get another Rita, to flush the New Orleans refugees out of the city.

The storm has already weakened, New Orleans is better prepared. It won't be nearly as bad for New Orleans as Katrina. It'll be worse for all the neighboring states that will have to collect the hurricane's human debris.

  18. there really isnt anything to say other than is sucks.  you cant control natural occurances like this other than I hope everyone has left the area to shelter or has prepared better than last time.

  19. Nothing I have seen or read says anything about it being worse than Katrina.  They can't predict that now..it's impossible.  As of now, on it's current path, NOLA won't take a direct hit.
