  2. pretty good for the money. Shimano gears are the best.

  3. Looks good, I had a Claud butler and it served me well. However I think hybrids are a bit of no winner. You will find out that road cycling is unbelievably cool and regret not getting a drop handlebar racing bike, as I'm assuming there are road between your friends house and yours. If you like throwing the bike around a bit I would say the reccomendatio someone else made is good.

The components however are really basic no-name components, but you don't really need to worry about that at this level, (by no name, I am saying even though Shimano are top (ish) of the league they do manufacture some really budget stuff).

If you want to save a bit of money and get a probably cheaper bike, go down to Halfords and try a few out.

  4. Not bad for the money.  6061 alluminium is fine.  It is a little sit up and beg for my tastes, but as a commuter it is ok.

    Luck

  5. well it is a mountain bike so it has gears so u can go a lot faster when u go far so it should be good for what u want

  6. I had a CB Urban 300, which is similar to the one you're considering. It was a good quality bike and rode well.

BUT - don't get a bike with a front suspension fork unless you're going to be off-roading most of the time. It's too heavy and a lot of your pedaling effort goes into bouncing the fork up and down instead of propelling you along the road. I sold my Urban 300 because of this.

Try looking at an Urban 100. It's a similar bike to what you want, has a rigid fork and is a lot cheaper. For the useage you've described it'll be a better bike for you.

  7. That looks great for a first bike and will suit your purpose as well.

  8. very nice for what u want it 4, no-matter what you spend, there will always be somting better available 4 a higher price. I'm glad to see that with a £200 budget u didn't try n get a full sus thats worthless, it's a reputable company and I'll think you'll be pleased, just don't expect perfection!

  9. Yeah, great for what your doing.

Wouldn't attenpt jumps on it though

  10. Looks like a nice first bike. Have fun with it and be sure and buy a good lock.

  11. Its a nice entry level bike for treking... you really don't need this for going to and from your friends house. You might be better trying Halfords for deals for that type of bike.

Still if you really want the bike you could certainly do a lot worse for the money, and you might even want to try some rough ground trekking once you have it... I'd also look for a decent safety helmet as well.

  12. Like this one better for the same price
