  1. sitting in a quiet room. no laptop no cellphones.

no clocks either because studying based on time isnt helpful. you could say you will study for 3 hours, but its what you do with the three hours that counts. i study for 30 mins for a test the night before, and i do fine.

  2. quite room....with

    MUSIC BLASTING (ROCK)

no really thats how i study -.-'

  3. I seem to be able to concentrate at night when everything is quiet. All my assignments are done at early hours of the morning ie;1 to 3am. Then I sleep in till about 9 or 10, not good.

My other habit is the smoking and coffees. However it got me a few distinctions!!

    night owl, Steph

  4. well i sit down somewhere quiet, and get on with it... then about 10 minutes later i tend to find myself on facebook, myspace, bebo.. or yahoo answers LOL.

like now.... i shud reli be doing my maths coursework

    never mind aye!

  5. write it over and over and over

  6. I found the only thing that worked for me was to schedule my study time five or six days a week, and to use that time for study whether i had specific assignments or not.

They say for every hour of class time (in college), you should have two hours outside of class devoted to it.  If you schedule that time, and stick to it, you'll find everything won't come due at once.  It's a lot more sane.

So, for example, say on Mondays & Wednesdays you have a math class from 10 to 11:15, and an Art class from 1-2:50, and on Tuesdays and Thursdays you have English from 9-10:15, History from 11-12:15, and Psychology from 2-2:50.  I might arrange my study time like this:

Mondays and Wednesdays go to class at 10.  After class go to the library to do my math homework, then to lunch, then to my afternoon class.  Then go home and work 3 more hours... perhaps on art, or if i'd do better working on one of my other classes, i'd do that.

But i work it out like blocks of time, starting with my first class, so that i can quit later in the day and have fun without guilt.  So it might be Mondays and Wednesdays you start at 10 and end at 9, and Tues & Thursdays you start at 9 and end at 8, and on Fridays you start at 10 and end at 3.  Some people need more breaks than others, other people study best before sleep.  You can work it out to suit what's best for you, just make sure you put in 2 hours for every class time hour every week.  Pacing yourself is the way to go.

  7. I never had to study.  I memorized most things the second I heard them, and just paid attention in class.

  8. Index cards, 100%! That way, you actually know that you know the information rather than when you think you know it by glancing at a piece of paper. If you can answer the definition or question without flipping the cards, you're in good shape. I never cared for them, but they help!

Retyping notes also works...and doing little bits at a time!

  9. everyone learns differently, and therefore studies differently... flash cards have allways worked for me.... I also used Powerpoint to create a slideshow of the info that i needed to know and whatched it over and over again...

  10. Always study by myself in a vacant place...i 1st get a full understanding of what I'm studying (reading entire chapter or wateva, looking at graphic or visual trying to understand it) and than i make flashcards  or say stuff over and over in my head until i feel i will remember it.
