  1. Preschoolers are capable of memorizing the months, but it will mean little to them. They have a terrible sense of time and many still haven't learned the difference between yesterday, today and tomorrow. It is not an appropriate curriculum focus.

  2. -relate the seasons to the months

    -special occasions in certain months

    -birthdays

    im not exactly sure what u want...

    (btw i work with children)

  3. There is a fun song and dance to teach them the months of the year. The dance is the same as the macarena and you just recite the months. Kids love this and remember it very well.

  4. ask about what the kids have learned about so far. have them make a chart of thier birthdays on a big poster board together. tell them about the seasons of each month. how long each month is.  have them color pictures that deal with each month. be creative and let them have fun. you should teach them this poem i learned it in like the 1st grade.

    30 days hath September,

    April, June, and November;

    All the rest have thirty-one

    Except February - with 28 days straight

    and 29 in each leap year!

  5. Hope I can help you out, from my distant memories.

    • Which months match which seasons?

    • Occasions - Christmas, Easter, Valentines day, etc. Which m onths is each one in?

    • What month is your birthday?

    • What is the 1st/2nd/3rd month?

    • February - Is this the 1st/2nd/3rd month?

    • Which month has 28 days?

    • Which months have 31 days?

    • Which months have 30 days?

    The link below, is a PDF, and it has some worksheets and ideas that you can use.

    You should also help them remember extra details, using the rhyme. Below are two versions:

    •30 days hath September,

    April, June, and November;

    All the rest have thirty-one

    Except February -

    That's the weird one.

    •Thirty days hath September,

    April, June, and November;

    All the rest have thirty-one,

    Excepting February alone,

    And it has twenty-eight days time,

    But in Leap Years,

    February has twenty-nine.

    Hope I could help!

  6. seasons, holidays and birthdays

    Cut out pictures of different seasons and have them sort them into summer, winter, spring and fall.

    Put the months of the year to music - that's a great way to learn the order of the months.

  7. try to bring in questions about seasons..what month is cold..which month brings spring. In wich month do we celebrate xmas. All the months stay the same for ever but this one changes every 4th year...(Feb) also the month of love...

    Ask each's birth month...uhm..yip thats all i have. Good luck
