IN book 3 chapter 8 the puppet master katara and sokka meet a old inn keeper named hama. turns out she is from the southern watertribe. she decides to teahc karata what she knows but karata soon finds out hama is a witch who is making people disapier using a tachinque called blood bending, useing blood bending a water bender can bend the water in someone body and contorl the. karata tells hama she refuses to learn this battle and it leads to a fight scene beween the two.
