What´s the best way to make a fund raising for an NGO?

I´m creating a Foundation to help to fight against the poverty. Wich are best methods to collect money?

For your new organization, you and the other people who feel most passionately about this organization need to donate some of the start up funds. You can't ask others to do what you yourselves have not done.

When approaching potential donors, you need to have a letters of endorsement from existing organizations saying this program is needed, you need to have data that shows your target group is in need whatever service it is that you want to provide and that they are not served otherwise, and you need to have a draft of what your first year's budget would look like (what expenses you expect to incur, what you expect to pay staff, etc.)

And once you have all this in place, then you look for funding locally -- via local businesses, universities, branch offices of corporations, branch offices of international NGOs, etc. Once you are an established organization with a proven rate of success, you can start thinking about funding from foundations and organizations outside your geographic area.
