  1. Look up the words self-actualized on wikipedia.com. This to me is the American dream to have everyone in the country functioning so they have work to support themselves & enough money to improve themselves. Having a balanced life. We have gotten so far away from it & we always do when Republicans are in the white house only the rich get richer & everyone else pays for it.


  2. The American Dream is the idea that anyone -- even someone of humble origins -- can grow up to be President, or anything else they want to be in life.

    Historical example -- Abraham Lincoln, who was born on the frontier in a log cabin, had very little formal schooling, yet went on to become a lawyer and one of America's greatest Presidents.

    Fictional example - Horatio Alger
