  1. its LIEN and no they cant put one on your house they arent mechanics it doesnt apply they could only take you to small claims court or send it to collection agency but it will cost more to file the lien or take you to court

  2. A mechanics lean is if you didn't pay for services render i would put a lean on your car preventing you from selling it.

second the burden of proof is on you if for instance you can prove the filter were not changed either by having a video camera proof or if you had marked the filter, i had the same problem since ive been a mechanic when i go to test the honesty of others i will buy filters and mark them with a water proof pen then take picture of the marks, then take the car have the item serviced generally i always pay the bill first then when i get home i go over the invoice as to what was claimed to be replaced then check those part for the marks,  i took my car to jiffy lube paid several hundred dollars for repairs they claimed they made, since i pre mark all things filter etc and filmed myself doing so, guess what jiffy lube did not change the parts as indicated so i sued and they settled out of court for 250thousand dollars and also released video to the media and now jiffy lube is in the public eye as a rip off, so for the 300 dollars i paid i can say i made a tidy profit.

In your case i would go buy a new filter for your pool take a water proof marker you can find them at supply store for the laundry industries film your self marking the filter like small dots or something then call the company out to service the pool pay the bill then check to see if your mark is there or not

if it is there you know have burden of proof its called consumer fraud then you sue, because the company only has the employees word that the filters were changed people lie video cameras never lie. other wise pay the bill and to put a lean on your house cost several hundred dollars to do it better to pay the bill mark the filter call that company back out to service the pool and if they say they did a service and you have burden of proof  like video and marked filters then sue for consumer fraud send video to the media and that company will be known as being dis honest and out of biz they go.

always mark filters on stuff then video for burden of proof.

i would pay the 70 bucks and guard against future fraud.

    hope this helps

  3. why don't you just pay the seventy dollars and tell them to go **** themselves

  4. It would cost them way more than 70 dollars to put a lean on anything. I would just ignore their idiocy.

  5. if it,s not in the contract, they can just go fly a kite. ask your attorney and see where you stand legally. i don,t think they can do that.
