  1. Open the roof window? Use a strong fan?

  2. The best way is to install a power roof fan. These can either mount right on the roof deck or inside on the gable end. They require wiring to them and they have a thermostat that you can set to kick on at various settings. What is nice about them is that they move the air on days when there is no breeze at all. When they kick on they pull that hot cushion of air out of the attic, but they must have someplace to pull the air in from.

So, you either need vented soffit on your house around the eaves, or gable vents. You can have them installed by a roofing contractor or a small general contractor. They need to be installed correctly to look nice, you don't want someone cutting a hole in your roof and just placing the roof ventilator over the hole and using the black jack cement to install it.

Ridge vent is ok, but it does not come close to exhausting hot attic air as quick as a power vent roof fan.Make sure you have some vents somewhere to let the fan suck in air.

  3. A thermostatically controlled electric fan mounted on a vent on one side of the attic while its pulling air in from another vent from the other side of the attic.

  4. leave the loft hatch off, and the sky window open if you have one!!

  5. in most areas it is best to install an attic fan with a thermostat it will save you money because it turns off at night i do believe home depot has them

  6. leave the attic door open, or if you have a vent in it thats the best way

  7. Call a roofer and have a ridge vent installed no moving parts and no electric required. why spend money on your electrical bill if you do not have too, the ridge vent will also help the roof last longer.
