I was thinking the name could mature with her, she could go as Bea ,when she’s younger.

Do you think I should name her that, or go with something more generic like Lauren/Jennifer.

  1. I wanted to name my daughter that but her father thought it was too old fashioned. I love the name I think it has class and is very feminine. Lauren Jennifer, are also nice names but they are so common.

If you want a common name like that but wanted to add class maybe changing the spelling like

Lauryn, or Jenifer. It also puts a modern twist on the name.

    Good Luck

  2. Beatrice seems like a name for your old maid aunt.

  3. I personally don't like Beatrice. It sounds like an old woman hobbling along on a cane. It is what it is, and OLD name. I don't think Lauren is generic, I don't hear it alot these days.

  4. I know two people with that name and both can't stand it and just call themselves B which is pretty silly as one is in her 30s and the other is starting middle school.

Do you really like Beatrice or is it because you don't want a very common name? I'm sure there are plenty of other uncommon names that have a nicer ring to them...

  5. i personally dont like the name

when i was younger i thought it was pronounced beat-rice

    like the 2 foods... lol

  6. I am not fond of the name beatrice personally but it is your daughter.  Bea is super cute tho.  And as you said it could mature with her.

I like more uncommon names not traditional names.

  7. I HATE generic names. I really like Beatrice, with Bea for short. That is too cute!!!

  8. I think just naming her Bea would be cute

  9. I'm gonna call my daughter Beatriz, in Spanish, and call her Betty when she is little.

  10. I love the name.  It isn't 'old' at all.  The Duchess of York's daughter is named Beatrice.  Beatrice is the heroine in Shakespeare's "Much Ado About Nothing."

  11. I never liked the name Beatrice..it;s idk it;s just very different. I love the name jennifer but you could still go with a unique name.

  12. I don't think you have to go generic if you don't want to, but I have to tell you the name Beatrice in my opinion is just not good at all. If your looking for classy how about Gabriella, Lillian (Lilly), names like that.

  13. lauren is such a great name

  14. Of course I'm going to say, "name her what you want to name her." As for my opinion, I don't care for Beatrice, I think of an older woman.

  15. I dont like the name sounds like an old ladys name. She will probably get made fun of in school. how about Jaden Rayne

  16. I like it!

  17. beatrice is pretty

  18. I don't care for the name Beatrice, what about the name LaDonna?

  19. Jennifer is better. Beatrice is right up there with Bertha

  20. I have always liked the name Beatrice and never go for generic names when you have a classic pretty name like Beatrice. I have met very few people with that name but they left a very good impression on me. I say go for it and who cares what others think. I used to teach a little girl by that name and everybody loved the name and she was such a sweet child. Plus the meaning of the name is beautiful and positive, I say YES to the name. :-) But like I said what counts is what you want and like, not me or anybody else.

  21. Naaa...Beatrice sounds like a phys ed teacher, now a name like Soraiyah, can't you picture her in an Arab prince's yacht, covered in jewels????

  22. I think it is a very nice name.  My baby sister is named Beatrice, but we call her BeaBea (BB) because she is named after her grandmothers-both are Beatrice.  Another nickname is Trixie, which would be cute on a spunky little girl.

I like Beatrice a lot more than Lauren or Jennifer.  Both of those are nice names, but not as feminine and classy as Beatrice.  Jennifer is very common as well.

You might also like Gwendalyn (the name of my youngest daughter) and Cassandra (on my list for any future daughters).

I hope you find the perfect name!

  23. Uhhhhh, you might wanna go with something more into this century and can last into future years. Some Unique ones are names like Violetta or Violet. Celine, Bella, if you want Classy and Feminine.

  24. Bea is so cute! It's so unique and feminine.

  25. I don't like the name Beatrice. Go with Jennifer, it's a beautiful name works for any age.
