  1. Every Scientific test of the paranormal and there have been many.Has led to one conclusion,it's a bunch of foofwraw.Even so you can discuss much of it rationally.Too bad here it descends into ghost hunting, spells and telekinesis.Things that are so silly, there is no rational way to discuss them. It's not a fine line between Science and nonsense.Too many people can't or don't want to see that.Way too many.

  2. maybe because of this definition:Paranormal is an umbrella term used to describe a wide variety of reported anomalous phenomena. According to the Journal of Parapsychology, the term paranormal describes "any phenomenon that in one or more respects exceeds the limits of what is deemed physically possible according to current scientific assumptions." For this reason, the scientific community often avoids research on the paranormal, believing that it may not conform to the standards required by the scientific method.

Paranormal describes subjects studied under parapsychology, which deals with psychic phenomena like telepathy, extra-sensory perception, psychokinesis, and post-mortem survival studies like reincarnation, ghosts, and hauntings. However, as a broader category, the paranormal sometimes describes subjects outside the scope of parapsychology, including anomalous aspects of UFOs, some creatures that fall under the scope of cryptozoology, purported phenomena surrounding the Bermuda Triangle, and many other non-psychical subjects.

  3. May be because there is much physics in all so called "paranormal"- we just do not understand all materias  and call our notunderstandind "paranormal".

It is interesting if "paranormal" existed in ancient civilisations

or they were able to understand better in their cults.

  4. For the most part, yes, it should be under Religion & Beliefs or Mythology & Folklore, since most of the activity here degenerates into talk of scary ghost stories and endless requests to learn telekinesis. However, to a limited extent certain paranormal claims can be investigated scientifically (i.e., in accord with the scientific method and deductive logic). To the extent that they have, however, the results have not been positive. Much more often the study of the paranormal doesn't meet the stringent requirements of science and instead falls into pure pseudoscience (a perusal of the paranormal research journals shows this to be the case), and many people without a good education in science fail to know the difference.

  5. Paranormal phenomena is a field of scientific research, superstition however goes under religion and belief

  6. I agree that it should be. On the other hand....... It gives those who have an interest or degree in science and math a crack at answering such questions.

I like to think in the wisdom of Yahoo organization, they figured this would bring some logic answers to those who think magically.

In reality, they probably just figured, like most people, that paranormal research is a legit science. But if this was the case, then it would be called "normal" not paranormal. Noone askes about poltergeists in the zoology section however.
