  1. you have no holiday entitlement at all to recieve holiday entitlement you have to be working at least 16 hours a week

I have just seen one answer you are not entitled to sick pay either and some of the other answers border on the ridiculous

  2. it depends on your employers terms and conditions, but standard holidays are 4 paid working weeks holidays, your hols might be based on your hours worked, on a pro rata basis, i know very confusing but worked out at pro rata you may only be entitled to 2 weeks, but check out your t&cs, glxx

  3. normally, holiday entitlement is around 4 weeks / 28 days. so you probably should be entitled to 40 hrs holiday a year. Depending on your company.

    PS. Remember sick pay!!!!!

  4. From 1 October 2007 all workers have a statutory right to at least 4.8 weeks paid annual leave (that's 24 days paid holiday if you work five days a week. (paid meaning your normal wage)

    http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Employment/E...

its interesting how many people think you dont get any, id hate to work for their bosses. maybe they should follow the law.

  5. 20 hrs per year, but will change in October 2007,

    You will get more

  6. All workers are entitled to holiday pay, your personal entitlement is 4 weeks , 10  hours a week, this rises to 4.8 weeks come October. A good website for employment rights is www.directgov.co.uk

  7. Minimum 20 days paid at the rate of 2 hours per day -  as worked

  8. As I understand it you have to be working 16 hours per week to be entitled to holiday pay although some individual employers do give this they are not legally obliged to.  However, you might be able to take unpaid holiday time.

  9. You are entitled to 4 weeks paid holidays per year. You work 10 hours per week so you are entitled to 40 hours per year, though your entitlement doesn't kick in til you have worked 3 months when you will have accrued 1 week. (10hours) Some employers do not pay any entitlement for the first year but pay it when you leave.

  10. you are entitled to 4 weeks paid holidays a year so it would be 20 hours in your case.2hoursx5days=10hours   10daysx4weeks=20hours.If you want more info visit WWW.ACAS.CO.UK.

  11. non, that is considered part time and part time workers have no PAYED holiday entitlement.

You could certainly have a few days off if you gave them a couple weeks notice, but you shouldn't be paid for the time off.

edit - whatever people, but 10 hours a week DOES NOT ENTITLE YOU TO A PAID HOLIDAY, sorry if that sounds unfair, but it sounds perfectly alright to me... do more hours to get up to 16hours, then you have certain entitlements.

  12. Part timers are now treated in the same way as those working full time and are indeed entitled to holiday pay, obviously on a pro rata basis.  If working 2 hours per day, then a "day's" holiday would be 2 hours.

Holiday entitlement would be included in the employee contract or company handbook so check or speak to the HR department.
