  1. Belted Galloway.

    It proceeds from Scotland.

I had a bunch of steers of BG some years ago.

  2. You saw Belted Galloways.  They are a rare heritage breed of cows.

Here's a link, so you can compair the pictures of them, to what you saw in the pasture, and learn more about them, if you'd like:

  3. Shihtzugurl is right..... could be either belted galloways OR BUELINGO's

  4. so you have no particular reason that you ask this question you just wanted to know?

  5. there are called belted and they are used for dairy mostly

  6. what you saw if they are belted galloways  or you might have seen dutch belts which many ranchers in texas use them as spotter bulls for artificial insemination  they have a surgury done on the bulls where the p***s goes to the side and they cannot breed a cow but the still have the drive too and it will show you what cow is in heat and ready to breed artificially we call this breed of belt oreo cookies

  7. You most likely saw Belted Galloways, but you very well could have seen Dutch Belts. I raise Belted Galloways, which are a beef breed. They can be black, red or dun. Dutch Belts are not quite as common and are considered a dairy breed or a dual purpose breed. They are both very pretty cows. For more information on Belted Galloways, check out www.beltie.org the breed association's website in the US.

  8. belted Galloway's

  9. There is actually 2 different breeds.... bohemian is right about the Belted Galloways,  but the other one is a much more rare breed called Buelingo.

I have seen them at some breed shows. They are a cool looking animal!

here is their site for pix.

  10. They are called Holstein freshen, they are milking cows, Got milk?

  11. is it a jersey

  12. Bohemian is correct, it's a belted galloway. It's a heritage breed which the American Livestock Breed Conservancy lists as 'recovering' meaning that while it was in danger of disappearing, more people are raising these cattle today and the breed is recovering. You can see the watch list here http://www.albc-usa.org/cpl/wtchlist.htm...

  13. Bohemian is correct.  Our neighbors used to have some, pretty cool looking!

  14. I believe Galloways.  We call them the oreo cows.  My neighbor has them and no offense, but I think they are ugly.  We raise purebred Simmental cattle (black of course).
