  1. All the top scorers prefer ECE.Next comes CSE .EEE and MECH have almost the same rank. But this year MECH is going to have a great milestone. This is because Bajaj takes MECH students. So I would rather prefer MECH if ECE is not available.

As biology is preferred over computer in higher sec ,ECE is preferred over CSE.Most of the students those who dont get ECE take CSE.

The top rank is to ECE because you can take CSE or ECE in ME.But you cant do this in others.

above all take your subject on your interest and not on ranking.

    1.ECE(Hardware and software)

    2.CSC(software)

    3.MECH

    4.EEE(hardware)

  2. IT MAY DEPEND ON UR INTEREST,

    RANK IN ENTRANCE TEST ETC.

RANK IS ECE , CSE, MACH, EEE.

    THANKS

  3. Better in what way?  I can tell you the differences.

    1.  Computer science:  You like software.  You get excited about math and how algorithms work.  You love to code.  Else do not take this.

    2.  Computer engineering:  You like software.  You like hardware.  You like operating systems.  You like to code.  You get excited about math and making things work.  You might like to go into hardware or software, but aren't sure.  You're not afraid of physical sciences.  Else, do not take this.

    3.  Electrical engineering:  You like to know the physics of how things work.  You like hardware.  You can code.  You get excited about math and building things.  You are interesting in making stuff, which might include circuits, chips, boards, communications systems, robots, or control systems, or possibly industrial applications.  You're not afraid of physical sciences.  Else, do not take this.

    4.  Mechanical engineering:  You like to know how things work.  You like the idea of using math to model physical problems.  You are excellent at visualizing objects.  You're not afraid of physical sciences.  You are interested in making things like vehicles, robots, mechanical systems, heat transfer systems and such.  Else, do not take this.

In all cases expect a lot of math.

I would take ECE if I was interested in software and hardware.  It gives you more options when you graduate.

A note on personalities:  You'll find more extroverts in Mech than the other 3.  If you're reasonably social you might find EEE or CSE mind crushing.  I'm just saying.

Also, seriously consider whether getting into engineering is what you want to do. It is a lot of work at school and on the job.  Often you will find your work to monetary reward ratio would be higher with a business degree.  Also, with the rise of the East there will be less run of the mill CSE, EE and CE jobs in north america.  If you're a top talent don't worry, there will be work for you to do.  But if you're doing this degree to 'get a job', think twice.
