so i took my car in to the tire shop today to get new tires and they discovered that my rotar was extreamly loose so they told me it was going to cost $400 to repair. Well i told them that i didnt have the money so they tried to tighten the bolt that is in between the lugnuts on the wheel and after they did that it did not wobble at all. but they guy told me i needed to take it back in so they could fix it..... does anyone know if this is a serious promblem or are they tring to get money out of me?!

  1. ok

i dont have a focus but

it seems to me the rotor is held on by the wheel

older cars used to have a rotor that was the whole hub

i would ask another mechanic  go to the ford dealer the service dept will answer your question without having to even look

  2. If its wheel barings, yourwill have excessive wear on the inside tire tread. Also you can take it to another shop that does free brake inspections and let them tell if if anything is wrong. Just don't tell them another shop said this. See if they tell you the same thing.
