Wheel for my Syrian hamster?

I went to petco today and i bought a 5 inch wheel is that too small? they ran out of 7 inch wheels and the 9 inches were just way too big! is the 5 inch too small for my syrian? and will it hurt my syrian hamter?

I have the Crittertrail Dazzle cage, nothing beats that wheel..  Buy a cage with a good wheel built in.

Sorry.. 5 inches is definitely too small. It will make him arch his back too much and he cannot exercise fully. That will eventually will hurt him. You ought to bring it back. The 9 inch would be better for him than the 5 inch.

Nine inches is fine.

It's better to have a wheel that is too big rather than too small.

And not to mention, I think your hamster will grow into it.

Five inches is just too small, especially for a Syrian.
